The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the Western Region has announced a disruption in water supply affecting the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis. A statement issued by GWCL on Thursday, April 25, said the interruption is due to a power outage at the Inchaban and Daboase Water Treatment Plants. GWL clarified that the interruption is a direct consequence of the power outage, which has affected the plants’ ability to treat and supply water to the affected areas. The Labone headquarters of Class Media Group (CMG) in Accra came under attack early Thursday morning by unknown assailants. Reports indicate that, four men on motorcycles threw petrol bombs and stones over the fence wall, causing damage to the glass door of the reception area. Google has been accused of taking advantage of its market dominance to make it harder to search for a rival email service. Tuta Mail – which says it has more than ten million users worldwide – alleges that, since March, it hasn’t appeared prominently in Google searches for “encrypted email.” The company has made a complaint to the EU claiming that Google – which has its own hugely popular Gmail service – has damaged a rival business. Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction in New York has been overturned, on the basis that he did not receive a fair trial. The New York Court of Appeals said prosecutors in the pivotal #MeToo case called witnesses whose accusations were not part of the charges against him.
