Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports Johnston has been using his hands plenty during OTAs. Heading into the 2023 NFL draft, Quentin Johnston was a consensus top-five wide receiver in the class. The top guys like Zay Flowers, Jordan Addison, and Jaxon Smith-Njiba were all expected to be phenomenal players at the next level and it was simply going to come down to which “flavor” teams wanted in their wideouts. For the Chargers, they chose to stick with their pass-catchers being on the sizable side of the spectrum paired with some elite athleticism. Johnston ended up being just the guy for them. Now despite ..read more

Not every NFL players who gets the chance to play a former teams truly considers it a revenge game. If it was an expected and mutual split, then of course there’s no animosity. But where’s the fun in that? For the degenerates like me who love themselves a good revenge game storyline, I listed every single former Chargers player that will play the Bolts during the 2023 season. For simplicity’s sake, I excluded any players that only ..read more

Ted Lasso “Believe” sign | Awful Announcing In honor of tonight’s Ted Lasso finale, let’s relate some Ted Lasso wisdom to Chargers’ storylines. Before fans and pundits knew the kind of head coach the Chargers had in Brandon Staley, he already began gaining some comparisons to TV’s favorite football coach. Pretty easy to see why players love playing for Brandon Staley. This really is something right out of Ted Lasso. @TedLasso ... https://t.co/Sfl11BRyiK — Rex Chapman (@RexChapman) October 13, 2021 Brandon Staley was likened to the title character of the hit show Ted Lasso midway through his ..read more

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports After drafting two wideouts with their first four picks, fans believe the offense got better this offseason compared to the defense. Last week, we asked you all a pair of questions for our latest edition of SB Nation Reacts. The first question was whether you believe the offense or defensive side of the ball got better after all of the team’s moves up to this point. According to our results, 74 percent of those surveyed believe the offense got better compared to the defense. That makes sense after the team used two of their top four picks in this year’s draft on wide ..read more

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports Lang played in 53 games with 36 starts at Colorado. The Chargers added a handful of defensive line amongst their group of 18 undrafted free agents this season in an attempt to hopefully find some needed depth at the spot following a rough 2022 season. We’ve already profiled the more productive players in Brevin Allen and Andrew Farmer but now it’s time to check out less-productive, yet still physically-imposing, Terrance Lang. The 6’4, 280-pound Lang starred at Maranatha High School for head coach Steve Bogan where he earned the rank of California’s No. 3 athlete fo ..read more

Bynum averaged over 13.0 yards per reception during his career with Washington and USC. The Chargers added depth to their receiver room by using their first-round pick on TCU’s Quentin Johnston before kicking off day three by adding his college teammate in Derius Davis. Despite adding a pair of wideouts during the draft, the team still brought in two more receivers in Florida State’s Pokey Wilson and USC’s Terrell Bynum. After profiling Wilson last earlier this month, it’s time to dive into Bynum and what he brings to the Chargers. Bynum prepped at St. John Bosco High School is Bellflower, Ca ..read more

Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images With Kyle Van Noy recently announcing on Twitter that he’s not coming back, there may be only one real answer to this question. Earlier this week, we asked you all about which of the in-house free agents from the Chargers would you consider bringing back at this point in the offseason. Here are our favorite answers! Bolt2424 I would have to flip a coin on Callahan and KVN. You can never have too many CBs. Even though we are expecting Jasir and Leonard filling some starting/depth pieces, Callahan has that experience. KVN is really only needed if there is an ..read more
