The eternal Ana Catarina Nogueira (45) and Bea Caldera defeated Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, who had so far won every match of the season and lifted the trophy in both Riyadh and Doha. A hard-fought match that lasted over two hours and ended in a double tiebreak in favour of the Portuguese and the Spaniard gave to Nogueira/Caldera access to the quarter-finals of the Acapulco tournament. If the world‘s best players, during the media day, expressed many words of thanks to the organisation for having put them in the best conditions to play after Hurricane Otis hit Acapulco in October, on the first day of the GNP Mexico P1 the first results arrived. Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez (3), in their second tournament together after losing the final in Doha, gave up only three games to Barrera/Caparros (6-2 6-1), but good wins also came for the other top seeds Salazar/Icardo (double 6-1 to Collombo ..read more

Acapulco, home of the GNP Mexico P1, is the city where it all began. But Mexico is an important country for padel not only because it was the first in which padel was practised, but because in the last years it’is one of the nations on the American continent with the highest growth rate.   In ..read more
