Dunlop becomes new equipment partner in 2021

The LTA, the national governing body for tennis in Great Britain, has announced that Dunlop will become its Official Tennis & Padel Equipment Partner from January 2021. As Official Tennis & Padel Equipment Partner, Dunlop will be granted branding rights at the tournaments as well as at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre in Roehampton. The brand will also host retail and fan experience activity at the summer events and Padel tournaments. LTA Padel Tour & GB Seniors Tour Unfortunately, in line with the Government and LTA Competition guidelines, we will not be permitted to run indoor competition for players aged 18 years and older in all Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas. As all LTA Padel competitions are planned within these areas it means that we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel all remaining LTA Padel Tour and GB Seniors events in 2020. Unfortunately the decision has been made to cancel the LTA Padel National League 2020 Finals, due to take place over the weekend of Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November at the National Tennis Centre. The decision has been made for several reasons including logistical challenges for players and teams. The NTC is an Elite Tennis bubble and therefore additional considerations have to be taken into account, making this event very difficult to run within the current restrictions. As a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the measures taken by the UK government to control the outbreak, the LTA suspended all activity including the LTA Padel Tour on 16th March 2020. West of Scotland Padel (WOSP) have made great use of the lockdown to ensure its members and visitors can resume playing padel in a much-improved environment. WOSP, Scotland’s only indoor padel club recently extended the lease with the landlords with slightly enhanced terms based on the club’s commitment to making improvements.
