TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston, considered by many to be the best player at his position in the 2023 NFL Draft class, reportedly has a visit scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston, Johnston is scheduled to visit the Jaguars along with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings.
Johnston, 21, earned First Team All-Big 12 honors twice during his time at TCU, tallying 115 receptions for 2,190 yards and 14 touchdowns in three seasons. At the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, the 6’3, 208-pound recei ..read more

The Jacksonville Jaguars reaped massive rewards from Trevor Lawrence making a huge leap in 2022. After leading the league in interceptions during his rookie season, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft was a Pro Bowler in his second year, finishing with 25 touchdown passes and eight interceptions.
Now the Jaguars are hoping they’ll get the same kind of improvement out of the player they took at the top of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Travon Walker finished his rookie year with 3.5 sacks and Jaguars coach Doug Pederson expects to see more in year two.
“Just like Trevor, we can only go up, right ..read more

It’s been more than a decade since the Jacksonville Jaguars received a compensatory draft pick, but that’s finally set to change after the team lost Jawaan Taylor and Arden Key in free agency.
The Jaguars now face the challenge of shoring up their offensive line depth and bolstering their pass rush, but owner Shad Khan is looking on the bright side. Losing free agents rather than adding them is a change of pace that he says is a sign that the franchise is in a much different place.
“You know, I hated to see [Taylor] leave, but that’s really a measure of success that you can’t hang on to all yo ..read more

Defensive needs are at the top of the priority list for the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, but it’s never a bad idea to address the offensive line.
While the Jaguars spent big to acquire right guard Brandon Scherff last offseason and found a promising young starter in center Luke Fortner, the left guard position is far from secure with Ben Bartch and Tyler Shatley battling for the starting role. So it’s not hard to imagine the Jaguars targeting Florida guard O’Cyrus Torrence with the 24th overall pick.
In an interview with Talia Baia of Inside the Gators, Torrence said he doesn’t hate th ..read more

The Jacksonville Jaguars already lost pass rusher Arden Key in free agency and general manager Trent Baalke says he doesn’t want Dawuane Smoot to do the same.
Smoot, 28, has spent his entire career with the Jaguars after he was picked in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Earlier this month, he became a free agent for the first time in his career.
Complicating his pursuit of a new contract is an Achilles tear he suffered late in the 2022 season. On Monday, Baalke told Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union that the injury has thrown a wrench in the negotiations, but said he’s optimist ..read more

The Jacksonville Jaguars almost made a splash in free agency, tossing their hat in the ring for Calais Campbell. That reunion didn’t come to fruition, though, as the 36-year-old defensive lineman instead chose to sign with the Atlanta Falcons.
Where that leaves the Jaguars is still in need of help when it comes to the task of applying pressure to opposing quarterbacks.
Only six teams recorded fewer sacks than Jacksonville last season, and losing Arden Key in free agency will only exacerbate the issue.
Adding a veteran pass rusher on a short-term deal to give the team a boost seems like a no-br ..read more

A reunion with Calais Campbell won’t be happening after all for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The massive defensive lineman, who was once a three-time Pro Bowler in as many years with the Jaguars, has opted instead to sign with the Atlanta Falcons, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Campbell made Atlanta the first stop on his free agency tour, but spent the next day with the Jaguars. After leaving Jacksonville without a contract last week, Campbell reportedly drew additional interest from the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions.
The decision to sign with the Falcons is a relativ ..read more

In two drafts as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ general manager, Trent Baalke hasn’t done much wheeling and dealing.
Baalke has negotiated just three draft day trades during his time leading the Jaguars’ front office, and all three were to move up the ranks to select a player. He also didn’t trade down at all in his last draft with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.
But early in his career as a general manager in San Francisco, Baalke did plenty of deals up and down the draft order. During one four-year period from 2011 to 2014, the former 49ers general manager negotiated 15 draft day trades.

Oklahoma State defensive lineman Tyler Lacy says he has a trio of visits scheduled ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, including one with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lacy said in an interview with Justin Melo of The Draft Network that he’s set to visit the Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Bengals.
The 6’4, 279-pound lineman said that NFL teams have talked about him playing several different positions across the defensive line. With the Jaguars, Lacy would likely slot in as a defensive end, although it’s a team that loves versatility and the ability to move players around its front seven.
