I am looking into buying my first smartwatch for health reasons. I am chronically fatigued and have mild sleep apnea (recently diagnosed), so sleep quality tracking and overall health metrics is what I'm after.
I also want a pretty watch, hence why I narrowed my pick to those two. I know the Withing don't have GPS and doesn't do a lot of the "smart" features, but if it's better tracking the health metrics I don't really mind + it's definitely a prettier accessory.
What are your thoughts on those two for my specific user case ..read more

Rather I am trying to find a smart watch with inactivity alarm. Ideally haptic feedback every [20] min of inactivity. Apple Watch apparently has an inactivity alarm after 50 min but I would like to have a shorter interval. Long battery life is a strong selling point. Phone integration is optional (I use an iPhone ..read more

I got her a Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 a couple of years ago and she loves it but I'm pretty sure the battery is dying and she thinks it's the charger instead. She goes on walks every day and she likes tracking the steps, distance, the calories she burns, her sleep and her heart rate. I'm not looking for something fancy at all, I was actually thinking of either getting her the Mi Band 8 or the Huawei Band 8. I've seen people recommend the first one more but I did own a couple of Mi Bands, the very first ones, years ago and they seemed very inaccurate, so I'm a bit wary of the Mi Band. I'm sure they ..read more

I had a Pebble and loved it with the face that just showed the basics (date, time, weather icon) and a calendar for the next three weeks.
I don't care about heart rate, sleep time, steps, or "cool" faces.
I don't want to charge it every day.
Are there any out there that are good successors to the Pebble ..read more

I have bought the Garmin Epix 2 non-sapphire watch and I am pretty happy with it. But currently I have seen how pretty the new Huawei watch looks and it also has many of the health/fitness features what Garmin offers and it even costs just the half of the price of the Garmin Epix 2. I can still return my Epix 2 and buy a Huawei instead, but I'm not sure if Huawei has the same quality of health tracking as Garmin does.
What do I actually want from a fitness watch? It should have an accurate HR sensor, at least for running and every day, and the training results like training effect should make ..read more

Surprisingly, I couldn't find an answer to this online so far.
I'm looking for suggestion of basic smartwatches/bands (= ideally below $100) that can load .gpx files and provide arrows for turn-by-turn navigation without displaying a map.
The gps position can be built-in or provided by the phone.
Thanks ..read more

Looking at the watches from companies like Kospet and Lemfo that are running normal Android as opposed to watches running WearOS..not strictly those two, just using them as examples.
Biggest "absolutely must have" is LTE for me, and ability to make/receive calls/texts as a standalone device.
Ideally I'd like to work with Verizon, but from reading it seems many, if not all, don't support VoLTE on Verizon? I can also deal with it working on T-Mobile if needed.
I'm having a heck of a time finding what bands these things support, and I suspect they're probably going to be similar to the Chinese ..read more

I'm looking for an overnight way to track spo2 for sleep apnea haven't really found something that looks comfortable and doesn't require a subscription. A strap on the arm or chest seems like a good way to do this but as far as I can tell straps like these just do HR and I'm wondering if a smartwatch on a strap would do the trick. I've read that smartwatch spo2 readings aren't reliable and I'm assuming this is due to being on the wrist more than sensors.
Is putting a watch on a strap at night a bad idea?
Is there any other pulse oximeter options I should be looking at instead ..read more

Hi All,
I recently got into triathlons and have definitely caught the bug. To help track my workouts, I'm considering getting a smartwatch (specifically looking a the Garmin Forerunner 955). One of the features that caught my eye is the suggested workouts.
My question is: are the suggested workouts only for running, or will it recommend swim and bike workouts as well? I'm also curious if you all have any other thoughts about how helpful smart watches are generally for training and any specific thoughts about the Garmin Forerunner 955.
Thanks ..read more
