I've gone back to cycling with some hiking mixed in over the last 4 or 5 months. On average, I'm doing around 80 - 120 miles a week on the bike. I've been using a Garmin Instinct 2 (non solar) and it works quite well at tracking my workouts and the battery life is great. It does everything I need for it to do. I just don't enjoy wearing it. It looks and feels like a sort of cheap, plastic watch. I wear it for rides and hikes then change back to a "real" watch as soon as I get back. Would... Garmin question ..read more

I played with my old S3 Frontier (non LTE) recently, thought that LTE version would be a nice summer go-swimming phone, plus they pop up really cheap nowadays... dont want that unlock mumbo-jumbo at all [Guide] Gear S3 Frontier (765A) Carrier Unlock Ok, so after a lot of trial and error, I've figured out how to successfully unlock the device. Up front, I have been unsuccessful at getting another carrier to pick up the watch, as they don't really understand eSIM configuration yet...but... xdaforums.com ..read more

I'm hoping someone smarter than me with an electronics degree can figure out what the H-E-double hockey sticks went wrong with this... So the misses was complaining that her Galaxy watch (model SM-R815) was not charging very well, so I ordered a battery and went to work following iFixit instructions. Now when I put it on the charger, it just sits at 0%.... FOREVER!! It won't get past the Samsung logo before shutting off. Best I have gotten it to is the "resetting" screen before it shuts... New Apple watch is out and main point there is AI addition to SOC. It has 6 core AI block (opposite to 16 core on iPhone 15). Thus it can run a lot of AI related tasks such as Siri out of the box without help from the phone. Ton of watches can do it via phone. Even Garmin can. Another interesting thing is Google killing smarts of WearOS 2 by refusing OK Google to work on older OS watches. I don't think there is any difference between current and older ones Wear OS watches in terms of AI... AI proliferation in smartwatches ..read more

I have an heart failure which give me a increased chance of an heart attack when I rest or sleep. I'm a healthy young man and if someone (like my wife) is going to get a defibrillator asap where will be a much higher chance to survive. So I'm looking for a watch which can monitor my pulse and call a specific number if there isn't any pulse. Is this possible? Regards ..read more
