I've gone back to cycling with some hiking mixed in over the last 4 or 5 months. On average, I'm doing around 80 - 120 miles a week on the bike. I've been using a Garmin Instinct 2 (non solar) and it works quite well at tracking my workouts and the battery life is great. It does everything I need for it to do. I just don't enjoy wearing it. I'm hoping someone smarter than me with an electronics degree can figure out what the H-E-double hockey sticks went wrong with this... So the misses was complaining that her Galaxy watch (model SM-R815) was not charging very well, so I ordered a battery and went to work following iFixit instructions. Now when I put it on the charger, it just sits at 0%.... FOREVER!! It won't get past the Samsung logo before shutting off. Best I have gotten it to is the "resetting" screen before it shuts... New Apple watch is out and main point there is AI addition to SOC. It has 6 core AI block (opposite to 16 core on iPhone 15). Thus it can run a lot of AI related tasks such as Siri out of the box without help from the phone. Ton of watches can do it via phone. Even Garmin can. Another interesting thing is Google killing smarts of WearOS 2 by refusing OK Google to work on older OS watches.
