Day three of the World Mixed Doubles Championship saw another three round-robin sessions take place. Group A played twice, with Switzerland following up a 10-3 morning win over Türkiye in just six ends, with an 8-4 win over Estonia, they remain unbeaten at the top of the rankings, on five wins. Italy also had two wins and sit in second place on four wins and one loss. They beat Türkiye by 8-3 in their evening game after beating Japan by 8-2. The European Curling Championships 2024 C-Division is about to get underway in Dumfries, Scotland. The event will begin on Sunday (28 April) and run until Saturday (4 May). Ten women’s and eight men’s teams will compete for medals and also for promotion to the European Curling Championships 2024 B-Division. The women’s field consists of Belgium, Croatia, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine and Wales. By the end of Sunday’s action at the World Mixed Doubles Championship, both groups had completed the first three of their round-robin games. Group A has two joint leaders – in the shape of undefeated Estonia and Switzerland –, while in Group B there are also two joint leaders – Canada and Sweden –, all on three wins and no losses. Saturday’s first day of round-robin action at the World Mixed Doubles Championship saw the ten Group A teams play twice, while Group B had just one game. The World Curling championship spotlight moves to Sweden between 20 and 27 April when the Oestersund Arena plays host to the World Mixed Doubles Championship and World Seniors Championships. Olympic champions Sweden beat Canada by 6-5 in Sunday afternoon’s gold medal final to claim the LGT World Men’s Championship 2024 title. Although they had lost to Sweden in Saturday’s semi-finals, Italy had the consolation of picking up bronze medals in the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2024, with a 7-6 extra end win over Scotland.
