I've worked on many notebooks over the years and never been unable to find info on my problem before but I'm stuck. The notebook would shut down when booting ( very quickly ) tested hard drive and it is fine. Tried to reset the bios ( not flashed ) to default and the notebook froze, so did a hard shutdown. Two problems. PROBLEM #1. The internet icon in the task pane on my laptop shows a globe. When I click on the globe to connect to my phone, I get the connection and the globe turns to a radio signal. As shown here, the inside of the MSI laptop screen outer shell has various taped sections. I assume these are shock absorbers? The four square silver pads appear to be conductive. They fit on the exposed metal sections of the clamshell and connect with the exposed metal on the back of the screen. Is there an online source for all of these pads and tapes? I have a very frustrating issue that just started today and I have no idea why. I use an Elitebook laptop for work, it runs Windows 10.
