The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed backup quarterback Jake Browning for a two-year contract through the 2025 season, according to an announcement from the team. Browning, a second-year player from the University of Washington, was originally signed to the Bengals' practice squad ahead of the 2021 season but he quickly gained recognition when he started seven games in the 2023 season following QB Joe Burrow's season-ending wrist injury. Bill joined the Bengals in 2003 as a scouting consultant. He worked in the player personnel department through 2022. The Bengals introduced the team's newest defensive tackle at a press conference on Monday morning. Unrestricted free agent Sheldon Rankins signed a two-year contract with the Bengals. Rankins attended the University of Louisville and has been in the NFL for nine years. In 2016, he was the New Orleans Saints' first-round draft pick. He played with the Saints for five seasons.
