Just picked up my new 2500HD 6.6L gasser two weeks ago (after a five month build) and noticed what sounded like lifters rattling after a few days. Took it in today and sure enough they think it is the lifters and will confirm tomorrow. If so, two weeks min to get the parts and fours days rebuild. So disappointed. Anybody else hearing of this? I have a 2011 Sierra with discs up front and drums in the back. I've had it since new and it's at about 197k miles now. I'm planning to bulletproof my 6.6 with 111k miles on it. The previous owner took good care of it. This week, I'm getting new glow plugs, a FASS fuel system, an S&S disaster prevention kit, as well as upgrading to an S&B hot side, cold side, and cold air intake. I have a 2008 silverado WT 5.3L 4x4 with 180000 miles on it. I take pretty good care of her. Regularly maintenance it. Anyways, this morning when I went to start the truck (let it warm up before leaving every cold start)I turned the key in the ignition to accessory and let the fuel pump prime and let the guages do there thing before cranking it. After replacing an AFM lifter I forgot to check all wiring and left the wire to the back of alternator off. While the truck was running the wire shorted against the alternator casing and the truck immediately shut off. All gauges are stuck on position they were in while it was running and the truck seems to have no voltage to anything (the battery still tests at 12v). Has anyone else ran into the issue of the 12v power socket fluctuating while charging a phone. I'll have decent output for anywhere between 5-20 mins then the output drops off significantly and will only charge at a ridiculously slow rate. We're talking 7 plus hours to charge a phone to 85%. What’s up y’all! New member here I’ve got a Black 2010 GMC sierra. It’s got a 2.5” motofab leveling kit Denali grille swap lumenx leds all up front and reverse light (they are bright af!). I’m running a range afm disabler and 33”x12.5 r20 gladiator mud tires. Also for my bubba truck boys, I run a go light every now and again.
