The engine since I bought the truck in '00 (it's a '65 dually F-350) is not the original 352, according to the seller. He told me he thought it was a car 360(? more likely 390). It has a front sump pan, and the oil filter is vertical.
The front sump clears everything by a wide margin. The truck is 2WD, so the front axle is a straight beam (the 350 didn't get twin I-beam until '67 unlike the 100 and 250). The 90 deg. car oil filter adapter also clears the frame rail, whereas it's going to be close if not actually interfering with the horizontal "truck" adapter.
There has been no evidence of c ..read more

Is it possible to put 4x4 drive train components of a 70 something F600 under a early 90 F600? My concern of course is the steering linkage. I think they used a different steering gear box...in a different position.
Can anyone shed any light on this ..read more

I’m working on a 2004 f-350 6.0. It has a crank no start problem, I run for codes and the only thing that pops up is a ficm Incompatibility code, with this ficm I hear all injectors clicking. I know to fix that code I will have to get it reflashed at the dealer. But I have another good running 6.0 and decided to swap ficms to see if that did anything. The incompatibility ficm started my other truck right up no problem. I put the good ficm in my non running truck and the code goes away but I only hear a few injectors clicking and it acts like it wants to start but won’t. Any ideas on what’s goi ..read more

This truck has been a fun fix, came into it with no mechanical knowledge but I just found this huge crack, I can’t find exactly what it is on google, seems bolted on but welded too, how boned am I… definitely seems a lot of custom work on this thing wondering if the weld ruined the steel

Like the title says I have a question about my new 65mm BBK TB. I started to install it but it seem bigger than the plenum I am installing in on to. When I open the TB butterfly I can see the rubber gasket and plastic behind it. When people installed it did they do any kind of port matching or did they just use it as is? Would buying an older style metal upper intake plenum and port matching it help anything?
Also I found this on another post:'its most likely a PI already though, IF it were mine Id toss a NPI shortblock in it with the PI top end' can anyone explain what 'NPI and PI' means a ..read more

Hey, I have this 7.3 idi and it’s making some noises. Sounds like a little bell. I think it’s my turbo compressor wheel. What do y’all think? Also, is this blow by and smoke normal?
