Hey all, I have an 08 jetta, 2.5. This is my first european car so i have no knowledge of the pro-tips. I recently changed the clutch on it and it rides smooth but wont go into 5th, slips into 3rd. I did a lot of reading and readjusted the shifter linkage, had someone run through the gears as i watched under the hood. Everything looks fine but dont understand why it wont go into gear. Trying to remove this chrome trim at the top of this door panel (removed from car) so it can be repainted properly. There are some clips on the backside (5 of them). Anyone with experience removing this trim successfully and can explain what's involved in removing and reinstalling it? I need help, anything at this point. Im waiting for the motor to blow or tranny to give out and when that does happen i plan on pulling the motor and trans out and want to swap it with the 6 speed, hence auto to manual swap and i want to know how possible is it and what i will exactly need to do.
