Getting into Gear with New Driver Auto Maintenance Courses When Monika set out on her Highest Award Journey, her Take Action project was based on a personal experience. Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan proudly recognized 15 Girl Scouts with the prestigious Gold Award at the 2024 Honor Ceremony, held Sunday, June 23 at the San Marino Club in Troy, Michigan.  Hundreds of other Girl Scouts were celebrated at the annual event including the Silver and Bronze Awardees, the Young Woman of Distinction and the two runners up, and the Tammie Murray and Jennifer Barnum Spirt award recipients.  Each Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awardee has addressed pressing issues, empowered their community, and advocated for a better tomorrow. Girl Scouting has been a part of Megan McConnell life for as long as she can remember.  Her grandmother was a troop leader in the 1950s and her mom was a leader for her sister’s troop in the 1990s.
