Happy Summer! We hope you all are enjoying the break and exploring the world around you! We wanted to take a moment to highlight some fun moments our troops have shared with us. Are you considering planning a camporee for your service unit? Our incredible leaders have a wealth of wisdom to share! One of our troop leaders, Cadijah, shared some of her tips and tricks with us. “I loved planning our camporee with help from other troop leaders in our service unit. For us, it started with a theme. Once you have that, it is easy to build around. Pinterest is my number one go-to. If your camporee is as simple as ours was, other troops may have done it before and you can see what worked and what didn’t. If it is a more unique theme, then you just have to be a little more creat ..read more

Girl Scouts of Middle TN
by Communications Department
3M ago
Hello! My name is Taylor Hayes, and I am the new Camp Director for Camp Sycamore Hills. To say Camp Sycamore Hills is one of my favorite places would be an understatement. I first started going to Camp Sycamore Hills in 2005. I really wanted to ride a horse and my parents thought this would be the best way for me to get that experience. I attended a program called Horse Fan (similar to Giddy Up Juniors) and spent my first week away from home. My parents were so worried that I would have a miserable time because it rained all week, and I was staying in a platform tent unit called Forest Isle ..read more

Girl Scouts of Middle TN
by Communications Department
4M ago
To round out our fabulous Women’s History Month, we are featuring women who are their own bosses and brought their ideas to life, through entrepreneurship. Many times in history, women had to fight to show they were worthy of having a seat at the table, and for these historic women in entrepreneurship, that was certainly the case! They say those who are crazy enough to believe they can make it are the ones that do, what’s something you are crazy enough to believe you can do? How can your skills developed during the cookie program help you to reach your goals?  March 25th: Social Media&nbs ..read more

Advancements in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) have been pivotal in moving the needle and developing our culture. Although frequently overlooked and (in the past) incapable of taking credit for their own work, women have been at the forefront of many of our important advances in medicine, technology, and space exploration! This week is all about those women and the barriers they overcame to make a change in the way we see the world. Think about what might come next, and how you can be instrumental in being a part of the change!  March 18th: Social Media  Did you ..read more
