Hello, my friends, long long time, no talk. As you probably guessed, I’ve been busy with my new life in real estate, and it has been more wonderful than I could have imagined. But it is not without its challenges either, building up a book of business takes time and it is a true hustle. But I am very thankful to be on a great team and surrounded by people who are generous with their knowledge and insights. I’ve been very impressed with the brokerage I joined, and the caliber of the training and expertise offered there. I could go on and on about real estate, I literally dream about it now, b ..read more

What I Wore in December

Hello! Wow, a little bit of time has transpired since my last outfit roundup. My life has changed pretty significantly in the past few months. In October, after passing the Oregon and National real estate exams, I got my license transferred to my brokerage, and have hit the ground running on building and growing a real estate business. I joined a great team, got to co-list a property right away, have been doing open houses most weekends, and am enjoying taking my buyers to look at homes all over Portland. I can't believe I get to say this, but I love every aspect of this business so far. It's ..read more

Every year, December feels like the fastest month. We all seem to look forward to this time of year, but POOF! It zips by so fast. The season passes even more quickly when we are extra busy. So, I hope this blog post saves you some time. I'm sharing three handy holiday gift guides to the store that seems to have everything - Dick's Sporting Goods. Our family recently went to Dick's and knocked out a TON of our Christmas shopping. Yes, we took the kids, because I am the type that likes to employ my kids' help for Christmas gifts. I like to get a gauge for what they actually like, and what act ..read more

Hello, happy holidays! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Native American Heritage Day. I hope you week is full of wonderful things! We have hearts and bellies full this week, and I am not mad about it at all. I feel like I am always playing catch up with these posts lately; I think I underestimated how busy my time would be once I started my new gig. But I love every minute of it! It's been so life-giving! I do find myself thinking about clothing considerably less and it is very refreshing. Less overthinking what I wear means getting dressed is a substantially easier, but I do feel like my outfit ..read more

Hi all! I'm still here! I've fully stepped into my new role as a real estate agent in Portland, and I love it. But gosh, it's keeping me busy, so much learning/onboarding going on. It's all incredibly interesting and fun to me; I feel very fortunate to be able to take a professional pivot like this. But I know you guys are here for the outfits, so let's get to it! As the title says, this post includes a mix of outfits, and I am excited to finally start sharing some more business casual looks with you guys, including The Pair of Pants. I'm keeping myself honest by sharing this photo. I don't ..read more

What I Wore: Incorporating “Third Pieces” + the Jacket Everyone Asked About
Seasons + Salt | A blog about simple, conscious, style.

The cold weather has returned this week and it almost feels like we skipped over fall and went straight to winter! My default in this type of weather is often to wear jeans and a sweater, so I have been looking for ways to add a 'third piece' to make my outfits a little bit more fun and interesting. Here is a look at what I've been wearing: I am always in search of semi-frilly white shirts. This style is a staple in my wardrobe. I recently sold the one in my closet because it wasn't working for me anymore (too short to tuck in!) and I was delighted to find this one a few months later. One c ..read more

What I Wore: Fake Fall Edition
Seasons + Salt | A blog about simple, conscious, style.

It's been a very sunny and warm fall around here, and it's a little bit... weird. I honestly don't know what to wear. Now I know what people in other parts of the country mean when they say 'fake fall.' I see things like pumpkins at the grocery store, and pumpkin-spice flavored fill-in-the-blank everywhere else, but it feels incongruous because it's so warm out. Now, I understand that feeling of momentary confusion people experience when they look at real time pictures of friends and family in other locations who are wearing coats. This extended warm, dry weather is extremely unusual for Ore ..read more

Pulled-together, cute weekday outfit? Check. Cozy-but-chic school drop off outfit? Check. Weekend soccer-game appropriate? Check. Pact - a longtime favorite brand around here - has covered the bases for me this week when it comes to outfits. I wore all the outfits I mentioned above, in each of those situations! And, of course, I'm going to walk you through it all. I recently added a handful of new items from Pact to my closet, (big thank you to Pact for sponsoring this post!) and here is a look at how I've been wearing them! Classic Polo Sweater The 90's called, and I answered. This po ..read more

What I Wore: Leather Jackets + Plaid Blazers

It's been another busy week in our household. I keep reminding myself this busy season won't be forever, and I can't wait until I can slow down a little bit. Right now, I feel like the last thing I have time for is putting together a cute outfit. But, when I look back at the photos, I think I did okay! A big reason: repeating what I like. I said this a few blog posts ago, repeating outfits makes life simpler! The same principal applies on an individual item level: repeating items makes it easier to build outfits. The reason is two-fold. Repeating an item helps you learn and understand how to ..read more

What I Wore + Sézane Try Ons
Seasons + Salt | A blog about simple, conscious, style.

It's been a busy week around these parts with school, sports and work schedules, but I've managed to squeeze out a few outfits. It's amazing how, when you're busy and mostly at home, putting together a nice (or even decent!) outfit falls low on the priority list. Don't be fooled by the images above, I did not wear these, they are Sézane try-ons! More on that down below. My schedule hasn't demanded much 'dressing for work' yet, but I'm still keeping that top of mind when shopping or thinking about future outfits. For now, here's a look at what I've been wearing this week. I chose this sweate ..read more
