The Miami Dolphins are signing free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., according to NFL Network reporters Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. According to Rapoport, it’s a one-year deal for Beckham worth as much as $8.25 million. Just $3 million of that total is base salary, according to multiple reports. Rapoport also noted that Beckham received more lucrative offers elsewhere, but chose Miami because he “wanted the fit.” The signing is far from a surprise, as Beckham signing with the Dolphins has seemed close to an inevitability for weeks. The receiver visited the team in March and head coac ..read more

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chase Claypool signed with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year contract Friday. Claypool, 25, began his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a second-round pick in 2020. As a rookie, he scored 10 touchdowns in his first 10 games before production tailed off late in the year. In 2022, the Chicago Bears acquired Claypool for a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, but he caught only 18 passes in 10 games with the team before he was traded to the Dolphins in October 2023 for a swap of late-round picks. In nine games in Miami, he caught four passes for 26 y ..read more

The 2024 NFL draft is in the books, and it was certainly a memorable one kicking off with a chaotic first round that featured an historic run on quarterbacks, wide receivers and offensive tackles, along with trades galore and some surprising picks. While it’s far too early to evaluate these draft classes in full — considering they haven’t yet along played an NFL game — there’s been plenty of reaction to these 2024 rookie classes. There were several teams that were clear winners while others had some questionable moves that garnered early criticism. But we truly won’t know who won or lost this ..read more

Miami Dolphins pass rusher Bradley Chubb is feeling optimistic about the progress of his recovery from an ACL injury, he said Thursday on a podcast. “It’s going good, man,” Chubb said on Williams Racing’s “Team Torque” podcast. “As good as it can be for this point, you know what I mean? I feel like the ACL recovery is so long and strenuous, but I’ve been having a positive attitude through it all, man. “Seeing that light at the end of the tunnel and working towards that and not really thinking about what it could be and what it isn’t. Just taking it day-by-day, focusing on how I can make today ..read more

Every NFL 5th-year option decision (including the Dolphins') in 2024
Dolphins Wire
by Adam Stites

Almost every NFL team had a decision to make by a Thursday afternoon deadline. Before 4 p.m. ET on May 2, teams had to decide whether they’d pick up the fifth-year option on the rookie contracts of players picked in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. For some teams, like the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars, that meant decisions on multiple players. Others, like the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers, don’t have any 2021 first-rounders on their roster. The totals for those options are based on the position of the player and can be elevated by reaching playtime benchmarks or ear ..read more

The Miami Dolphins selected wide receiver Malik Washington in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft, but double-dipped at the position when USC’s Tahj Washington was still on the board in Round 7. Like most Dolphins receivers, Washington isn’t big at just 5’10, 174 pounds. And also like much of the Miami receiving corps, that didn’t stop him from putting up big numbers on the field. But can Washington earn a spot on the roster with players like Malik Washington, Erik Ezukanma, Braxton Berrios, and River Cracraft also battling for a job? Here are seven things to know about the Dolphins’ sevent ..read more

The strong safety position has been a revolving door for the Miami Dolphins in recent years. After allowing Eric Rowe to walk in free agency, the team signed DeShon Elliott to a one-year deal to fill the role in 2023. In March, they Dolphins turned to Jordan Poyer, handing the 33-year-old veteran a one-year deal to be the safety in 2024. But with no succession plan beyond the upcoming season and hardly any depth behind Poyer on the depth chart, Miami took safety Patrick McMorris in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft. Could McMorris be the long-term solution the Dolphins need in their secon ..read more

The Miami Dolphins have a lot of mouths to feed in their backfield. There’s Raheem Mostert, who led the NFL in rushing touchdowns last season, De’Von Achane, who averaged 7.8 yards per carry during an electric first season, and Jaylen Wright, a rookie taken with a pick that was acquired for a 2025 third-rounder. Jeff Wilson Jr., Salvon Ahmed, and Chris Brooks are also set to compete for a roster spot and Pro Bowl fullback Alec Ingold can’t be forgotten either. While too much talent at a position is a good problem to have, it still presents Mike McDaniel and his coaching staff with the challeng ..read more
