Recap: The Golden Knights hosted Pacific rival Vancouver Canucks for a late season divisional meeting. It didn’t take long for Vegas to generate their offense. Deadline acquisition Anthony Mantha gave VGK a 1-0 lead 1:37 into the game. Jonathan Marchessault added his team-leading 41st goal of the season five minutes later.   Recap: The Golden Knights hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning for an out-of-conference battle from The Fortress. Vegas jumped out in the lead immediately out of the gates. Jonathan Marchessault recorded his 38th goal of the season 1:14 into the game. Six minutes after the Lightning evened the score and added the go-ahead goal a few shifts later. Recap: The Golden Knights traveled to Calgary for a Pacific Division game with the Calgary Flames. The Flames outshot the Golden Knights 13-6 in the opening twenty minutes, but Adin Hill was sharp in net to keep the game scoreless through twenty minutes. Calgary outshot Vegas again in the middle frame but the visiting team would go on to take the first lead of the game. The Sharks are retaining 17% of Hertl’s salary for each of the next six seasons after this one meaning Vegas are on the hook for $6.75 million against the cap. Hertl has scored 15 goals and registered 34 points in 48 games this season. He scored 22 goals and had 63 points in 79 games last year. According to multiple insiders (Dreger, Johnston, Friedman), the Golden Knights have acquired defenseman Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames. The Golden Knights gave up a 1st round pick, a conditional 3rd round pick, a 5th round pick and Daniil Miromanov. The 3rd round pick becomes a 2nd if the Golden Knights win one playoff round. The 27-year-old defenseman has scored 11 goals and record 35 points in 61 games this season. He is a puck-moving D-man who also is a trusted penalty killer.
