I made my second trip to this lovely wedding venue on the Essex/London border earlier this year, and mercifully this time it wasn't torrentially raining! I've really enjoyed working at The Barns at Lodge Farm as there's so much character at every turn, which makes my job as a photographer very easy as there are so many nice backdrops!
I've been test driving several different films as I launch myself back into shooting on 35mm, so I took my trusty Canon 1N along with me, thinking the venue would lend itself well to some gorgeous film shots.
These photos were shot on a mixture of Kodak Pro Ima ..read more

Have you heard the statistic that one in six people in England have experienced symptoms of a common mental health problem (such as depression or anxiety) in the past week? And if you're thinking 'bloody hell, that's high', I have bad news for you. Those are figures from the Government's most recent Mental Health and Wellbeing Survey, taken in 2014. An updated one is due, but the figures ten years on will undoubtedly be higher, given the global pandemic and cost of living crisis we have lived, and are living, through.
It's been a rough couple of years for the world, to say the least. And for ..read more

One of my favourite weddings from 2023's packed season was this glorious summer celebration at Brookfield Barn in West Sussex. The beautiful barn wedding venue can be found a short distance from Horsham and Crawley, and is also easily reachable from the bigger metropolises of Brighton, Portsmouth, and London. Featuring a large rustic barn, a lake (by which you can also have an outdoor wedding ceremony), and acres of grounds, this venue has everything you'd want for a celebration in the English countryside.
And this lovely venue was where the even lovelier Ellie and Jack tied the knot in Augus ..read more

If you're reading this blog, I'm guessing you're not a regular bride, you're a cool bride! (Please get the reference, or else it sounds as though I'm being really rude...)
REGARDLESS, you're not keen on the traditional poofy, lacy white wedding dress thing. And that's awesome! While some people have always fantasised about the big white dress, it won't be everyone's thing, and you shouldn't settle for it just because it's 'tradition'. At the end of the day, it's YOUR wedding day, and you want to feel like you - and the best version of you!
So here are some amazing non-traditional wedding outfi ..read more

One of London's striking Art Deco registry offices, Wandsworth Town Hall can be found in the centre of Wandsworth (who'd have guessed!) in south west London. I live a quick hop across the river from there and have had the pleasure of shooting half a dozen weddings there over the last five years.
It's a great place to get married; situated within reach of loads of places for your reception, and full of character for wedding photos inside and outside!
I've put together this guide to give you all the information and photo ideas you need to inspire your own Wandsworth Town Hall wedding, as well a ..read more

Here's a fun fact for you - I actually grew up in a barn! And before you get visions of me sleeping on a hay bale next to a herd of cows, it was a barn conversion with central heating and a working toilet. But perhaps this is why I LOVE a barn wedding venue; it's probably subconsciously making me feel at home as I take in those old, slightly wonky walls, high ceilings, and rustic wooden beams. Now barn weddings have become so popular, I think my parents missed a trick in the '90s by not converting our gargantuan sitting room into a wedding venue, and being well ahead of the curve!
