My Custom Not Lego Koban Police Station
Bricks And Figures

Hey brick fans! I just wanted to show you my latest project, it's a small neighbourhood police station called a Koban. It's typically found in many Japanese cities and towns.   My little not Lego Japanese town gets a much needed police station. Here's the wikipedia page for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%8Dban My model is based on someone's 3D render I found on the internet.  It looked simple enough to replicate with my bricks and blocks. I copied the location of all the windows that I saw in the pictures and even added bars on the windows. I added ..read more

Why did I expand my Lego Compatible Strip Club?
Bricks And Figures
by

Hey brick fans! A couple of weeks ago I built a Lego compatible Strip Club for my new collection of Sexy girl minifigures that I bought from Aliexpress. Right after I finished building it, I realized it was too small and lacking a number of necessary items.  I like the look of the building but needed to improve it somehow. I had two options, I could either build up or build out.    If I added a third floor to the strip club, it would make it stand out amongst all of the other smaller shops on my Japan street.  Recall that I'm trying to create an unassuming buildin ..read more

I made a Lego compatible Strip (I mean Dance) Club!
Bricks And Figures
by

Hey brick fans!  Earlier this month I picked up some rather risque minifigures from Aliexpress for cheap.  Some of them look like characters from anime and others like exotic dancers.   I think someone on Reddit suggested that they belonged in a nightclub, and that sounded like a good idea.  I just needed to make a modular building, but I wanted an understated building, not a flashy club with neon lights and such. I planned on having the building sit on my Japan street, so I wanted to make a Japanese themed building. In the Japanese anime called Initial D ..read more

Welcome! Hey brick fans!  I hope you like Medieval themed sets because today I'll be reviewing the Medieval themed Funwhole Apothecary building block set.  This will nicely complement my other FunWhole set called the Medieval Pier Inn.  I reviewed that impressive set during the summer and you can find that review here. The Apothecary Shop presents a Lego-compatible building block set boasting an impressive 1420 pieces. This three-story architectural marvel features a ground-floor store, a second-floor laboratory where intricate potions and concoctions take shape, and a cozy thi ..read more

How to make a Lego style Medieval Guillotine!
Bricks And Figures

Hey guys, how's it going?  I'm back with another MOC build and this one is for my medieval village display.  It's my custom guillotine that was inspired by something I saw for sale on Aliexpress. I'm guessing that this little set was a MOC that someone designed and it was subsequently copied and made for sale.  There are several Aliexpress stores that I saw carrying the guillotine, priced between $10 to $20.   Anyways, the Aliexpress MOC guillotine looks to have a footprint of about 8 studs by 6 studs more or less.  The bricks used are fairly common, othe ..read more

Pictures of my Sherlock Holmes 221B Baker Street Modular Building MOC

Hey what's up brick fans?  Today I'm sharing pictures of my latest project, the Sherlock Holmes 221B Baker Street modular building.   I know my modular building probably bears no resemblance to the 221B Baker Street featured in the TV show or movies since the MOC is more based on the Lego compatible Pantasy brand 86218 set of the same name, so please just assume this particular building exists in an alternate universe. In December 2021, I did a full review of the Pantasy Sherlock Holmes 221B baker street set which you can find here.   It's a very nice quality ..read more

Medieval Villager Minifigures for My Town (Aliexpress Review)

Hiya brick fans!  Welcome back to bricksandfigs.blogspot.com!   This is just a quick post to fill you in about another purchase I made from Aliexpress.  As you might know, I recently acquired a set of medieval soldiers for my fledgling town.   The town currently consists of the JMBricklayer observation guard tower and the Lesdiy small windmill.   None of these sets came with any minifigures, so I figured I start to populate the town. Different types of medieval soldiers are readily available on Aliexpress and Temu, but everyday folks like vi ..read more

Random Medieval Soldier Lego Compatible Minifigures Set from Temu
Bricks And Figures

I was browsing through the building blocks category on Temu a couple of weeks ago and I saw this set of 12 medieval themed Lego style minifigures for around $9 CDN.  That works to about 0.75 cents per minifigure. Here's how the medieval soldiers came in their packages from Temu.  They are unbranded and the packages don't have any set numbers on them. The minifigures come packaged two per bag and you have to attach the hair, arms, hands and capes yourself. Of the 12 minifigures, 6 are wearing a gray chainmail outfit and the other 6 are wearing a blue crested tunic ..read more

I made Thomas Guerts Warehouse Modular Building out of Lego compatible bricks
Bricks And Figures
by

In 2021, Thomas Guerts submitted his idea for a Warehouse Modular building to Lego ideas, but sadly it never garnered sufficient votes to see this project made into reality.  I'm not sure if Thomas ever made the physical model or whether the warehouse was simply a 3D render.  I checked his instagram @elteebricks but never saw it there. Since he didn't make it, I thought I would give it a try.  I bought a lot of dark red masonry bricks from Aliexpress for the warehouse walls.  Everything else was scrounged from my spare brick parts bin.  As you can see,&nbs ..read more
