On the farm: Amerks undefeated at home through the first month of the season. Month in Review After 11 games played, the Rochester Americans are slotted in second place in the North Division with an overall record of 7-4-0. The Amerks have split the majority of their matchups against division opponents, but have remained perfect on home ice. Some of those wins feature blowout victories including a 7-2 win on Wednesday, November 2 against the Syracuse Crunch and a 5-1 win on Saturday, October 29 in Laval. The team has also been on the other side of some lopsided games. The Rocket defeated the ..read more

5 Bold Sabres Predictions For 2022-23 The Sabres entered last season as a joke and they ended it with hope. It was just a completely different vibe around the team in the last quarter of the season and you can feel that something special is brewing here. Are they a playoff team? I don’t think that they are quite there yet, but I do think this will be similar to last season in the sense that it will be another year of growth. The 2022-2023 season will be an interesting one, to say the least. The Sabres are injecting more youth into their roster and there will be several storylines to follow a ..read more

The $50 Million Man: Evaluating the Tage Thompson contract Well, the Buffalo Sabres have signed Tage Thompson to a massive 7-year, $50 million contract. Imagine hearing that sentence just one year ago. It’s certainly a hefty price to pay for a player who has only had one NHL season of incredible success, but there’s layers to it. There has been an uproar of debate amongst the hockey community, so I am going to share my thoughts on both the player and the contract. 2021/22: The Year of the Tage Before we can dive into what Tage Thompson will look like moving forward, we must talk about the in ..read more

2022 Sabres Draft Recap: Rounds 2-7 Continuing with Part 2 of the Sabres Draft Recap article, this section looks at the eight prospects drafted in rounds 2-7. As was the case with Part 1, I give insight on what type of player each is, what they do well, where they need improvement, and what they ultimately project to be in the NHL. While Round 1 saw some very well-known talent get taken, Round 2 was a different story. With a mix of Russians, Swedes, and even a goalie, Adams and his staff were really busy getting prospects from all over the globe. Sabres Director of Ameteur Scouting Jerry F ..read more

2022 Buffalo Sabres Draft Recap: 1st Round The Sabres wrapped up night one of the 2022 NHL Draft by using all 3 selections they came into it with. As expected, the 1st round was all over the map, especially with how things started, but the Sabres walked away some very nice prospects. Kevyn Adams and his scouting staff seemed to put a premium on highly-skilled offensive forwards, walking away with 3 of them when all was said and done. While not the same style of players, each brings a different dynamic to the offensive zone. In the first of this two-part article, I will look into the Sabres f ..read more

Buffalo Sabres Mock Offseason: Let the good vibes roll What an encouraging end to the 2021/22 campaign it was for the Buffalo Sabres. Don Granato had the boys buzzing in April, winning 6 of their final 8 games in what was expected to be another dismal regular season. The Sabres upcoming offseason is going to be an interesting one. This time last year, many thought the 2022/23 season would just be rebuild season #2 (or #3, I’ve lost track). Dare I say it’s looking like they may be able to put together a nice little competitive season? Lots of cap space. Lots of fun names available in free age ..read more

Thanks RJ

Thanks RJ What can I say? Rick Jeanneret made Sabres hockey exciting. No one could ever capture a moment or find the perfect thing to say the way he did.  He was more than an announcer to this city as his voice has been so distinguishable for decades and a person who is a key piece to the identity of the organization. As a 90s kid, RJ was someone we all imitated as well as dreamt of him calling our own goals in the NHL someday.  Sure, Hasek was incredible to watch but the way RJ described the saves being made is what made them even more spectacular.  I personally feel like I h ..read more
