Shap and Justin Wilson (@LAClippersFilm) were joined by Tim Cato, the Mavs beat writer at the Athletic, to discuss the upcoming Clippers-Mavs series.
In the 75 minute pod, the trio covered a wide variety of topics, including how this series is different from those in 2020 and 2021, the impact of the Mavs’ midseason moves, the defensive matchups on both ends, potential small-ball by both teams, and overall predictions.

213 Hoops Roundtable: Clippers vs Mavs Part Three
As always, the 213 Hoops staff gathers together to give predictions and abbreviated thoughts on the Clippers’ playoffs series, this time on round 3 against the Mavs.
Erik Olsgaard: Clippers in 6
Assuming that Kawhi plays from game 1, I’m pretty bullish on the Clippers in this matchup. First, I’m not terribly convinced that Dallas is truly in the elite echelon. This impressive 16-2 stretch (excluding the last 2 throwaway losses) to close the season by Dallas has been against mostly below-average competition, with an average opponent ..read more

Clippers vs. Rockets Game Recap: It’s playoff time
The LA Clippers dropped their final regular season game, 116-105 against the visiting Houston Rockets.
Summary
With the Clippers having already locked up the fourth seed in the Western Conference, Sunday’s matinee regular season finale was another opportunity for the young guys to get playing time.
In addition to Kawhi Leonard being out, the Clippers also sat Paul George, James Harden, Ivica Zubac, Russell Westbrook and Norman Powell and Bones Hyland. PJ Tucker didn’t play after halftime and Terance Mann didn’t play after the f ..read more

Clippers Sign Kai Jones, Waive Josh Primo
In a bit of pre-playoffs housecleaning, the Clippers waived Josh Primo today and simultaneously signed Kai Jones to a multi-year deal. Jones will fill their last roster spot heading into the playoffs, and because he has not appeared in an NBA game for another team this season, I think he can technically log minutes in the playoffs.
For everyone getting excited about the signing, a bit of cold water. Jones will have almost no time to practice with the team, and has played in just 67 total NBA games, may of them “garbage time” appearances. I ..read more

Clippers vs. Jazz Game Recap
The LA Clippers fell to the Utah Jazz, 110-109 in a game that ended up being not very important.
Summary
Prior to tip-off between the Clippers and Jazz, it was announced over the PA that the Detroit Pistons had beat the Dallas Mavericks, securing the fourth seed and homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs for the Clippers.
That essentially rendered Friday’s game as meaningless and Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue adjusted accordingly. While Paul George, James Harden, Terance Mann and Ivica Zubac started the game, none of them played aft ..read more

Clippers vs. Suns Game Recap: Impressive effort from deep bench
The LA Clippers dropped a game at home, 122-108 to the visiting Phoenix Suns. But it was the effort from the reserves that was the story of the night.
Summary
With the Clippers having essentially locked up a 4/5 finish after their dominating win in Phoenix, the rematch against the Suns on the second night of a back to back seemed to be the one they’d use as an opportunity to get guys some rest.
Sure enough, prior to the game it was announced that all of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, Ivica Zubac, Russell ..read more

Clippers vs Suns Recap: Clips Eclipse the Suns, 105-92
The Clippers nearly blew a 37-point lead, but hung on in the end for a big-time win on the road in Phoenix without Kawhi or Harden.
Game Summary
The Clippers came out focused, the Suns came out sloppy, and in just four minutes the Clippers led 17-2. It was really that fast, with the Suns putting up no defense and turning the ball over constantly. As the quarter continued, they got tighter with the ball, but could absolutely not buy a shot – they missed several layups and open-ish jumpers. The Clippers continued to push, and pu ..read more
