Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder Preview This matchup will be more competitive than most would think. The trio of Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Dennis Schroder have been elite of late. The Thunder matchup extremely well against the Rockets. Both teams have stellar guard play. Both teams have guys who can get to the rack and get to the line. Both teams feature similar-style bigs who can protect the rim. The obvious edge for the Rockets is that they have James Harden. Yet and still, if the Thunder are able to neutralize Harden’s ability to take good shots and get to the line ..read more

The 76ers will be looking to bounce-back at home after suffering a tough 127-119 overtime loss the first time they saw the Thunder this year. In the first matchup Philly’s starters shined, including 31 points from Joel Embiid and 28 points from Josh Richardson, but got virtually no production from their bench. Philadelphia 76ers at Oklahoma City Thunder Preview The Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder have produced some entertaining matchups over the last few years, but now that Joel Embiid’s dance partner Russell Westbrook is gone to Houston, this may not quite have the fireworks it once did, but don’t expect Thunder point guard Chris Paul to back down from the challenge. The 76ers are 7-4 on the season, good enough for fifth in the West. They lost their last game and have struggled away from home, compiling a 3-4 road record, which accounts for every single one of their losses this season ..read more

The Beginning In 2009, the Oklahoma City Thunder assembled the best drafted team of (arguably) all time. Sam Presti started this three-year run of stellar drafting by taking Kevin Durant at #2 in the 2007 NBA draft. Durant was a couple pounds of muscle from being a sure thing in the league, as he would go on to win Rookie of the Year that season. The team, then the Seattle Supersonics, would move to Oklahoma City after Durant’s first season. The next year, Presti took Russell Westbrook at #4 and Serge Ibaka at #24 in the 2008 draft. Westbrook would make the rookie first team while Ibaka would ..read more

Portland Trail Blazers (3) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (6) The No. 3 seeded Portland Trail Blazers (53-29) take on the No. 6 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33) in a first-round playoff series that could feature a great deal of action from both sides. Usually, a No. 6 seed never poses a threat to upset the No. 3 seed, but this season poses a different scenario. The Thunder were the only team to earn four wins against the Blazers and had the West’s best point differential per 100 possessions (plus-6.6) against Portland. Even though Oklahoma City swept the regular season series, all four games we ..read more
