Shai Gilgeous-Alexander excited to play in front of Thunder playoff crowd
The Thunder Wire
by Clemente Almanza

After a nearly two-week hiatus, the Oklahoma City Thunder are set to play in front of their home crowd again at Paycom Center on Tuesday. Plenty of benefits came from the Thunder’s Round 1 sweep of the New Orleans Pelicans. It allowed the youthful Thunder to enjoy another extended break and rest their legs. One small downside though is the time between home contests. The Thunder haven’t played in front of their playoff crowd since their Game 2 win over the Pelicans on April 24. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — who recently became a father — is excited to play in front of the OKC faithful for the firs ..read more

Gordon Hayward can still contribute to the Thunder's playoff run
The Thunder Wire
by Clemente Almanza

During a recent practice, Gordon Hayward had a roughly five-minute session where he swished in all of his 3-point attempts with ease. It was mesmerizing to see unfold. The 34-year-old has one of the best shooting forms on the squad. Which makes his Round 1 performance even more puzzling. Hayward totaled one shot in 31 minutes against the New Orleans Pelicans. His playing time dwindled with each game. By Game 4, he only logged four minutes. The four-game sample size perfectly encapsulated Hayward’s awkward marriage with the Thunder. Averaging 14.5 points on 47% shooting in Charlotte, his stats ..read more

Lu Dort breaks down defensive matchup against Luka Doncic
The Thunder Wire

The biggest matchup of the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks Round 2 series involves an offensive hub and one of the best perimeter defenders. A key matchup will be how Lu Dort defends Luka Doncic. Dort had a fantastic Round 1 series. He limited Brandon Ingram to 14.3 points on 34.5% shooting in four games. Dort’s one-on-one matchup increases in difficulty by tenfold against Doncic. Doncic is one of the best players in the league and is an MVP finalist this season. He averaged 29.8 points on 40.5% shooting, 9.5 assists and 8.8 rebounds against the LA Clippers. The 25-year-old had a st ..read more

Tim MacMahon: Suns should call Thunder about a possible Kevin Durant reunion
The Thunder Wire
by Clemente Almanza
3d ago
After being swept in the first round, the future looks bleak for the old and expensive Phoenix Suns. This could mean drastic offseason changes, such as Kevin Durant’s departure. The 35-year-old is in the twilight stage of his career. This means he only has limited shots left to win another championship. Being swept in Round 1 despite averaging 26.8 points on 55% shooting will surely not sit well with the future Hall-of-Famer. This could cause Durant to force the Suns’ hand and trade him away after two failed postseason runs with them. Despite his age, the 14-time All-Star is still one of the b ..read more
