NFL mock draft: Rams trade back with Bucs, acquire OLB Joe Tryon-Shoyinka

The Rams are keeping all options on the table in the first round of the draft on Thursday night, and that could include a trade for a veteran. That’s what transpired in our latest NFL Wire mock draft where I picked for the Rams. Rather than staying put at No. 19, I was offered a trade by Bucs Wire editor Luke Easterling for the 26th pick. It was an offer I felt would help the Rams now, while also still giving them a chance to add a rookie for the future. The deal was Pick 19 for Pick 26 and edge rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Based on the trade value chart, Pick 19 was worth 55 points more than th ..read more

One CB for the Rams to target in each round of the 2024 NFL draft

The Los Angeles Rams plugged their roster holes at cornerback in free agency by signing Darious Williams and Tre’Davious White, but neither player should be viewed as a long-term option. That’s exactly why the Rams are likely to add at least one cornerback in the draft, whether it’s on Day 1 or in the later rounds on Day 3. There are a variety of different cornerback types available throughout the draft, whether it’s a pure outside corner, a versatile defender who can play safety or a slot defender. The Rams could use help at all three spots so they’ll have plenty of options from Thursday nig ..read more

Barring a trade, the Los Angeles Rams will have a chance to draft one of their top 20 players in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. Sitting at No. 19 overall in Round 1, the Rams are in a great position to land an impact player in the first round of the draft. They’re working through various scenarios to determine who might be available at No. 19 overall, but it’s difficult to project who might still be on the board when Les Snead and Sean McVay have to make their pick. ESPN used various mock drafts and player rankings to build its Draft Day Predictor, which projects 19 players’ chances of ..read more

Ranking every Rams first-round pick since 2008

Despite their seven-year hiatus from selecting a player in the first round, the Los Angeles Rams have selected 11 players in the NFL draft’s opening round since 2008. Out of those selections, seven were selected by current Rams general manager Les Snead and four were made by Billy Devaney. The list is actually not as bad as one would think considering the state of the Rams during their final decade in St. Louis. There are All-Pros, Pro Bowlers and a few busts. However, the foundation for several teams’ championship runs was built through the Rams’ first-round selections, so here’s how they ra ..read more

Report: Rams making calls about trading up, would be for a top defender
Rams Wire

Les Snead said on Tuesday that the Los Angeles Rams are open to all options in the first round, whether it’s trading up for a player, staying put at No. 19 or trading back to accumulate picks. They won’t know for sure what’s best for them until the first round actually gets underway on Thursday night, but there’s plenty of buzz about them moving up. Dan Graziano of ESPN shared in his pre-draft notebook that the Rams are among the teams that have made calls about trading up in Round 1. And if the Rams were to move up, “it would be to get one of their top targets on defense.” The people I talk ..read more

Rams mock draft roundup: Most experts still have LA targeting defense
Rams Wire

Mock draft season is coming to an end with the 1st round of the 2024 NFL draft set to begin on Thursday night. Experts have done endless hours of research in an attempt to figure out what each team will do in Round 1, yet no one truly knows what will happen when the fun starts in Detroit. When it comes to the Rams, it’s easy to think they’ll take a defensive player to fill one of their many holes on that side of the ball. However, this is Les Snead and Sean McVay’s team we’re talking about. McVay loves offense and Snead is never afraid to make a splash. Therefore, it’s borderline impossible t ..read more

One LB for the Rams to target in each round of the 2024 NFL draft

Thanks to the emergence of Ernest Jones at inside linebacker, the Los Angeles Rams are pretty much set at that position. Though Jones won’t get an extension before the 2024 season, he has a good chance to sign a multi-year deal with Los Angeles next offseason. Combining the Rams’ lack of need at the position and the weak linebacker class as a whole, the team can wait to draft an inside linebacker this year. They also re-signed both Christian Rozeboom and Troy Reeder as depth pieces. Below is one linebacker for the Rams to target in each round of the draft (except the first ..read more

The 2024 NFL draft is just days away, where teams are finalizing their draft boards before things kick off in Detroit on April 25. There are plenty of storylines to monitor heading into the first round, including how the run of quarterbacks unfolds. At this point, it’s all but official that the Chicago Bears will draft Caleb Williams at first overall. After that, everything’s on the table — what the Washington Commanders decide, quarterback-needy teams looking to move up and teams looking to trade up for other premium talent. We’re unveiling our seventh and final NFL Wires mock draft of the 2 ..read more

It won’t be long before the Los Angeles Rams make their first pick in the 2024 NFL draft, which begins on Thursday night. Will that selection come at No. 19 overall? Or will they make a trade up or down the board? General manager Les Snead and coach Sean McVay held their annual pre-draft press conference on Tuesday, two days before the first round starts. They didn’t divulge much about their plans for the seven-round event, but there were a handful of things we can glean from their comments. Everything is on the table with the 19th pick, whether that’s moving up for a blue-chip prospect, stay ..read more

Les Snead: Rams will explore potential trades up or down in Round 1 of draft

Sitting in the middle of the first round at No. 19 overall, the Los Angeles Rams are flush with options for Thursday night’s draft. They could trade up into the top 10 or 15 to grab a prospect they covet, someone such as Rome Odunze, Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu. They could also trade back if their primary options are off the board at No. 19, or if there are so many good players available at that spot that they feel comfortable moving down and still landing one of them a few picks later. They could obviously stay put and pick the best player available with the 19th pick, which is very much on the ta ..read more
