Cruise Break | What To Do
Cruising FullTime

While on this cruise break, I have been weighing heavily about whether I was ever going on another cruise again or not. Already a germaphobic Pre-Covid, just thinking about all those people with killer germs really freaked me out. However, my love for cruising outweighs my fear of germs. Knowing that the cruise lines are doing every thing in their power to maintain safety for their passengers and crew members put my mind at easy. During this cruise break I strive to keep up to date with whats going on in the cruise industry. First: I follow cruise fanatics on twitter, instagram and facebook g ..read more

Minor Setbacks
Cruising FullTime

There have been some minor setbacks since I started my plans to cruise full-time and since I last posted. First I had some health issued that came up that I had to address before sailing. No one wants to be sick onboard or get let behind at some port because you took ill. Well we all know what happened next Covid-19. Minor setbacks. If I hadn’t took the time to deal with my medical issues, I would have been onboard when Covid hit the US. I would have been stuck onboard with all those passengers. I can’t even imagine being stuck onboard confined to your cabin until it was safe to leave the ship ..read more

Change of Plans

Life happens and things come up and plans have to be changed. My father’s 75th birthday is a week before I was to depart on December 1st and no one said anything about doing anything for him, until of course the last minute. I can’t miss this birthday because not only is it his 75th birthday, but almost 2 years since his heart transplant. I also think I want to be home for the holidays. I have a new grandson (CJ) and this is his first Christmas. He will be almost 10 months, so it should be fun. Well you know what they say family first. So my new cruise date is Jan 5, 2020 on NCL out of NY. Fo ..read more

Which Cruise Do I Choose???
Cruising FullTime

Choosing a cruise line was challenging, but not a hard decision. Traveling as a solo cruiser made it easier to decide which cruise to choose. It was a toss up between Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) & Royal Caribbean Cruse Line (RCCL). Both cruise lines have great solo cruiser programs. My first solo cruise on this journey will be on NCL Bliss traveling out of NY. I chose this particular cruise because it was 12 days and the price was great. NCL website is easy to navigate for solo travelers. Under their cruise deal tab they have a solo cruiser discount option to list all the sailings with sp ..read more

Countdown Checklist

I’m getting close to my departure date, only 74 days to go and still so much to do.  Passport, luggage, cruise insurance just to name a few.  I still have a lot to check off on my checklist.  I did get my Real ID through DMV which will be a requirement in 2020.  I’ll be sailing out of NY for my first few cruises which is close to home, so if I forget to do something I won’t be panicking too much. I came across some wonderful sites in my research. Cruise Critic has a great post on Pre-Cruise Planning and Make Time To See The World has some good information on Cruise Packing ..read more

Getting Ready-Downsizing
Cruising FullTime

There is so much preparation in getting ready to cruise full-time and completely downsizing. You can’t take but so much on a cruise. Getting rid of clothes, books, old papers that have been accumulating for years and things you think you can’t live without. To me it was liberating, but I know some will have a hard time with it. You can put it in storage if you don’t mind the extra bill. You can also make some extra money and sell your items on ebay, etsy or poshmark. You’ll be surprise how much things go for online. You can probably pay for a cruise and some shore excursions. When my lease on ..read more

Cruising Fulltime The Vision
Cruising FullTime

Well it’s almost my birthday, time to reflect & write goals for the new year. Cruising fulltime is on the top of the list. Last year I wrote my goals and made a vision board on the things I wanted to have, be & do. My big goal was to have a house on the ocean. I want to wake up smelling the salt water & watching the dolphins play. I also want a personal chef & a housekeeper. Along with those goals, I want to travel the world. One day as I glanced at my vision board & reread my goals, there was an article that appeared about seniors living onboard cruise ships instead of ass ..read more
