It’s no secret I’m a pet person, specifically a dog person although I love them all. I recently found Cherrybrook Premium Pet Supplies, an online retailer of pet supplies (but they also have stores!), and I’m super impressed. I love that they specialize in pet foods containing healthy, natural ingredients (with only named protein sources) – whole grains and holistic ingredients. They have exceptional customer service that help top show professionals to groomers to loving pet parents. They also host rescue groups and donate to pet causes – a major plus and something I look for when creating a ..read more

This review is sponsored, but all opinions are my own. I only share products I use and love! Mom life has been no joke lately – busy, busy, busy (when is it not…). The end of the school year was a whirlwind and now we are (literally) diving right into swim season. I wanted to share a little life hack that has been helping me lately – Premama Wellness Postnatal Vitamins. These little capsules are helping my body + mind recover from all things prenatal and birth. The mission of Premama Wellness is to creat the highest quality supplements that are easy to take and understand. They offer 4 stages ..read more

Inez Shoes

Am I the only one who buys birthday shoes? I always seem to find a really cool pair of shoes right around my birthday, and get them with the intent to wear on my actual birthday. Well this year, I found gorgeous, cool, funky heels that are COMFORTABLE, like mythical unicorn heels. Usually comfort and heels don’t go together, but Inez creates heels that make your feet happy. It’s because of hidden cushioning – comfort technology- and I couldn’t be happier to tell you about these shoes. I also have a discount code, so keep scrolling, and check out all their styles here. All Inez shoes are made ..read more

Maple Whisky Sour

This is the perfect cocktail to ring in the New Year – it’s sweet, has depth, and a tart pucker from the lemon. I used J.P. Wiser’s Deluxe Whisky for it’s smooth flavor. It pairs so well with the maple and lemon flavors. A sprinkle of cinnamon is the perfect touch for a cozy night in (or for a party, whenever we have one of those again!). I was not always a whisky person – I’ve tried a few whisky cocktails here and there with my husband, and this is by far my favorite and one I love to make around the holidays. It’s great for sipping and relaxing. If you’re spending the night in, I highly re ..read more

Christmas Chicken Carnitas

We are changing up Christmas dinner this year, and going for something we love – chicken carnitas. I was inspired by a Christmas margarita recipe to go this route. This recipe is super easy – you put all of it in a crockpot for hours (while you enjoy gift opening and the day), then shred, broil and serve with all the fixins’. I’m also making a corn pudding and bought some fresh guacamole, but you can serve with rice or beans – or whatever your favorite Mexican side dish is. #2020 may be a dumpster fire, but Christmas dinner is going to be amazing. Reduce the Burden of the Flu

This post is sponsored by The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, but all opinions are my own.  We’ve all been through the ringer this year with the pandemic, and it’s so important to stay healthy going into this winter season. I am keeping up with my health checklist by eating immunity boosting foods, staying active, and getting my annual flu shot. I want to share my story about why I get the flu shot every year. Back about a decade ago, when I was a 20-something who thought they were immune to everything, I decided to roll the dice and not get a flu shot one winter. I th ..read more

The following shop local sites have perfect gifting options for women: Birmingham Chocolate – Chocolate. Really, really good chocolate. 5 Fall Checklist Items for Our Family
Don't Dress Like A Mom

Fall is both my favorite season and the most hectic. I love welcoming the crisp air with a sweater and a mug of hot cider, and watching the leaves change color. It’s also the time when we say goodbye to summer and prepare for winter by harvesting the last of the summer veggies and going through our summer clothes to make room for bulky knits. We have a checklist of 5 things we do every fall since we have busy routines and tend to get off track easily. I am the type of person that loves a to do list. 1. Get flu shots and make sure we are up to date on our vaccinations – This year we went to ge ..read more

Charcoal Facial Soap

Fall is when I get crafty. Something about winter approaching and cool weather makes me want to create and stock up. I make this charcoal facial soap each year since one batch makes about 10 bars. I can gift them and make myself a nice inventory. I’ve been using this soap religiously for years. It’s gently cleansing, detoxing, and makes my skin feel smooth. I love that I know exactly what’s in it – no crazy ingredients, nothing I can’t pronounce, and I can play with it if I feel like adding anything new. I love the deep charcoal color and the smell. It’s inexpensive and easy to make. I use a ..read more

Pumpkin Floral Centerpiece
Don't Dress Like A Mom

I don’t love pumpkin spice, but I love this pumpkin floral centerpiece (and everything fall, except pumpkin spice). It’s easy to craft and most of the things you need for this project are on sale. You can do same day delivery or curbside pick-up at Michaels! It also lasts for years since we are using a faux pumpkin and faux flowers. Let’s talk about options – there are so many colors to choose from. You can get an orange pumpkin and use fall colors, go all white with some muted greens, or go Halloween-y (it’s a word) with a white pumpkin and black flowers. A black pumpkin could look creepy w ..read more
