Advocate Like A Mother | Mom Life Mugs On March 13th, 2019, our son was officially enrolled in the Birth to Three Program, after nearly 6 months of trying and advocating, and we began the second part of our journey… Hi there, my name is Tresa and I am the mom blogger behind The Mom Blog WI and the Our Journey Series! Our Journey to the identification of educational autism (so far) officially began on March 13th, 2019, but we struggled for months before that to be seen by a professional who would take our concerns seriously. Our son Jackson is very sensory-seeking and struggles with sensory pr ..read more

*Today, we finally officially enrolled our now 3.5-year-old son Jackson in the Early Childhood Education Program. He’s been identified as having educational autism and currently functions across the board at a 22-24-month-old level. He’s currently 42 months old.* It honestly kills me to look at these tweets from nearly a year ago… We thought we were making so much progress back then. We thought the Birth to 3 Program would be the answer we needed. We had been told we would have a speech therapist come to our home and help Jackson on a weekly basis. There had been talk about different therapie ..read more

I’m a Helicopter Parent…

Source; Hybrid ParentingAnd you know what? FIGHT ME. According to Wikipedia, ‘A helicopter parent is a parent who pays extremely close attention to a child’s or children’s experiences and problems, particularly at educational institutions. Helicopter parents are so named because, like helicopters, they “hover overhead”, overseeing every aspect of their child’s life constantly.’ I’m a Helicopter Parent. I hover. I stand “overhead.” I am whipping around him like a damn helicopter. I suffocate my child and have no regard for his personal space and I have zero interest in letting him freely ro ..read more

Dear Momma, I understand now… Dear Mom, Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. For every time you gave up something of yours so that we wouldn’t go without. For every time you inconvenienced yourself so we could thrive. For every night you laid awake worrying about us. I understand now. #DearMomSeries — Tresa | The Mom Blog WI (@TheMomBlogWI) January 9, 2019 Thank you for everything you’ve ever done and continue to do for me and my brother… I appreciate you and everything you’ve done with greater understanding now as I hold my baby tight and tuck him into bed. If I could go back and relive one day…

If there was one day as a parent that I could go back and relive, it would be the day my son was born. Not because I regret that day. Not because I wish that day hadn’t happened… It was the happiest day of my life; I just wish there were some things I had done differently... Awe Sandy, I’m so sorry to read this. I wish you could relive that day with your Nana. If there was one day I could go back and relive, it would be the day my son was born. I would stand up for myself and my son more. — Tresa | The Mom Blog WI (@TheMomBlogWI) July 19, 2019 I was recently inspired by a fellow mom on T ..read more

Writing for Me
The Mom Blog WI

I have been feeling very unmotivated lately. Uninspired, lacking creativity and spunk. I’ve been questioning myself and my purpose a lot lately, the direction I’m going in and my mission. Every idea I’ve come up with, I’ve dismissed completely because I am overthinking everything. I’ve been experiencing some serious writer’s block, but I’ve also been avoiding every single thing I know to do to break through that writer’s block. I know that if I have writer’s block, I should still write. I know that if I just start writing, something tangible will form. I know that if I keep avoiding it and su ..read more

Hi there, everyone! Welcome to the third post in my April A to Z Blogging Challenge! In case you missed it, be sure to check out the previous post in the series; Behavior, Boundaries, & Balance! For the third day and the letter C, I chose Connection & Communication. The common theme and hope for my posts in this series is for the series to revolve around parenting and children, since that is a huge part of my life and the lives of my followers and readers. But my goal is also to spend my time in this series reflecting on parenting as a whole, which I’ve spent a lot of time doing ..read more

Hi there, everyone! Welcome to the second post in The Mom Blog WI’s April A to Z Blogging Challenge. If you’re participating in the challenge, I hope you’re doing well and going strong on the third day here! I wanted to talk a little bit about Behavior, Boundaries, & Balance today because these words are often used in relation to each other when talking about parenting, and have particularly been used with us and our family recently. It’s been weighing on my mind and I haven’t much liked the context in which they’ve been used, either. If you haven’t heard already, our almost 3-year ..read more

Hi there, everyone! Notice something a little different? *Wink, Wink* *Nudge, Nudge*     It has been a long, looooong two months since I have created some new content and let me tell you, I have missed this! I have been sick, for I kid you not, two entire months. Two months! Back in January, I started with a sinus infection that just would not quit! It. Was. AWFUL!     I eventually ended up with a sinus infection and started a round of antibiotics at the end of February, which did nothing! Absolutely nothing. So I muscled through every single day, every single week, waiting ..read more
