Kim Kardashian is once again having to defend one of her business decisions.
This time the reality TV entrepreneur is pushing back against criticism from Jameela Jamil and others on social media who say she is trying to make pregnant women feel self-conscious about their growing bodies by introducing a new line of maternity “solutionwear” that they say emphasizes a need to have a “perfect figure.”

Moviegoing audiences in North America are not rushing back to the theater just yet and “Mulan” is also faltering in its China release as the global box office slowly comes back online in the COVID-19 era.
In the second major weekend for U.S. and Canadian movie theaters, Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” earned only $6.7 million from 2,910 locations, according to studio estimates Sunday. The days of vinyl records being a nostalgic relic of the past are long gone. This year, vinyl sales have outpaced CD sales in the United States for the first time since the 1980s.
Vinyl records accounted for $232.1 million of music sales in the first half of the year, compared to CDs, which brought in only $129.9 million, according to a report from the Recording Industry Association of America.

Taylor Swift will perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards for the first time in seven years.
Fans can see the pop star, who started out her career in country music, make her long awaited return to the ACM stage when the award show is broadcast at 8 p.m. Sept. 16 on CBS-TV.
Swift is set to perform the song “betty” off “Folklore,” the singer’s blockbuster eighth studio album that has already spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
That run ties Swift with Whitney Houston for the most cumulative weeks atop the chart by a woman in history.

NEW YORK — Toots Hibbert, one of reggae’s founders and most beloved stars who gave the music its name and later helped make it an international movement through such classics as “Pressure Drop,” “Monkey Man” and “Funky Kingston,” has died. He was 77.
Hibbert, frontman of Toots & the Maytals, had been in a medically-induced coma at a hospital in Kingston since earlier this month. Tame Impala has announced the rescheduled date for its upcoming show at Chase Center in San Francisco.
The phenomenally popular Australian psychedelic-rock outfit, led by multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker, now performs at the home of the Golden State Warriors on Sept. 15, 2021.
This is the third date that has been set for this concert. It was originally supposed to happen on March 13, 2020, but that show was postponed to Sept. 21, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. And now the show is being rescheduled once again.

The cable network Starz on Thursday announced it has green-lit a series inspired by the 2018 Oakland-based feature film “Blindspotting.”
Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal, who wrote, produced and starred in the critically acclaimed movie, will be involved with the half-hour dramedy. They’ll both serve as writers and executive producers, and Casal will be the series showrunner, in addition to having a recurring role.
The series will be produced for Starz by Lionsgate Television.

The mainstage lineup has been announced for the 2021 Country Summer festival in Santa Rosa.
All of the headliners — Eric Church, Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Young — are the same ones who were originally scheduled to headline the festival this year. But,of course, organizers had to postpone the three-day country music event until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tilda Cobham-Hervey admits she really didn’t know a lot about singer Helen Reddy when the script for the biopic “I Am Woman” reached her several years ago.
“At the time, I knew the song ‘I Am Woman’ and I knew Helen Reddy’s name, but I’m very ashamed that I didn’t know a lot more about her,” she says. “And it has been one of my greatest joys to learn about her life.
