Since 1972, two predominant sequences have defined pommel horse routines and, over time, have become fundamental for gymnasts. The Magyar and Sivado sequences also demand technical perfection when executing the skills across five double circles. Unfortunately, years ago, the FIG MTC equalized both forward and backward travels, performed in three circles, despite their significant technical differences. You Hao’s and others’ routines would be indirectly disadvantaged at the highest international stages as they do not use the “flat hands’ false grip” which is just a double improper grip used in strength skills.
