My husband and I are always a bit skeptical of jukebox musicals, because the book don’t always work seamlessly with the artist or band’s music, but TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL was fabulous, mixing the genre with biography and providing a comprehensive look at how Anna Mae Bullock became the inimitable Tina Turner, surviving abuse and mistreatment to reinvent herself as one of rock’s most venerable artists. We saw Naomi Rodgers (who alternates the lead role with Zurin Villanueva) as Tina, and wow is it a tour-de-force performance. Most musicals have supporting characters who sing several so ..read more

Without the flight, or headache of figuring out Genie pass, we enjoyed the magic of Disney for two hours. It was a nice escape and an appetizer for the real deal in the Sunsh ..read more

By The DC Moms contributor Jillian Diesner If anyone told me the first show I’d see after tw0-plus years at home would be Monster Jam, I wouldn’t have believed them. But, times being what they are, when our family got a chance to see the show in D.C. this weekend we jumped at it. We set out for Capital One Arena on a frigid night, opting to drive in and pay for parking. At the somewhat chaotic entrance our IDs and vaccination cards were checked, and once inside ushers periodically reminded viewers around us to mask up. The crowd consisted of lots of families with kids, though a few couples an ..read more
