Fables From The Wonderland

When I think of our country’s independence, I am drawn towards partition literature. We might be celebrating our freedom today, but the struggle and pain that people on both sides of the border went through, is unparalleled. While we have leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad fighting at the forefront, there were people like Jawahar Lal Nehru and Jinnah who were drafting a way for the newly free nation, to be divided into two different identities. It was Religion that played people against people, and well, it was not the only time this was done. But let’s forget it fo ..read more

Blurb – Book Review – The lion of Kashmir for me is a tale about Home. I read this book quiet sometime back, but the impact that it had on me is worth mentioning. This is not a regular book about Kashmir and the conflict it is constantly surrounded by, but a book which is remorseful, yet gives hope. Following the life of Zooni, this book has been divided into 3 parts, each very different from each other showing Kashmir from a different perspective. For me, this book was very interesting to read for it does not restrict itself to one sect of ideology revolving around Kashmir. It talks about ..read more

I have been an ardent reader ever since my childhood. Archie comics, Panchtantra Tales, The Children story books, Nancy Drew and the Clue crew books, etc. were my first introduction to the world of reading. Over the time, my school library became a great place for me to explore books across various genres and writers and be submerged in my own “wonderland”, where there were lesser problems and more fun. While reading began as a hobby for me, it soon became a daily ritual. Reading helped me in ways hard to put into words. But i’m still going to try telling you how being a reader has been one of ..read more
