Healing Is A Person
Faith Talk

We don’t need a cure when we have the Healer. William Murphy III He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, obeying his commands and keeping all His decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15.26 NLT It was here in the wilderness (Exodus 15) that God reminded the children of Israel that He was not only their Provider materially, but that He was also their Healer. It was this moment that God revealed Himself not just by what He could do (heal ..read more

My Life Is Not My Own
Faith Talk

For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake and the gospel’s will save it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul and eternal life [in God’s kingdom]? For whoever is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of H ..read more

The Father’s In The Room
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills

It’s easy sometimes to believe or feel that God is disconnected from our struggles and challenges. And yet, sometimes we can be so consumed with ourselves that we don’t invite God into our circumstances opting to do it ourselves. “I got this” has become a mantra of our time. But regardless of whether or not God is moving in His own timing, or just waiting for us to come to the end ourselves, He’s present with us. And He wants to lead in our lives. Even when God the Father seems absent or quiet, He sees and knows. And He promises to be with us. The post The Father’s In The Room appeared first ..read more

Not Good Enough
Faith Talk

So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]; Acts 13.19 AMP Refreshing and restoration follow repentance. True repentance always requires a change of heart and a change of mind that leads to a change in behavior. It allows God to bestow forgiveness upon us [releasing us from our sins]. He’s already paid the price for our sins, b ..read more

How Do I Try To Live & Work At Jesus’ Pace?
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills
2y ago
I’ve often said that it’s not just what we do with our lives but how we do it. Jesus cares about the process as much as He does the destination. Because He uses both. Similarly, the pace of our lives is also important. So important that our pacing can hinder or advance the call of God in our lives. I recently joined Lionshare’s Wisdom Unlocked: The Ways of God podcast to talk about the pacing of Jesus and how we can follow Him. Throughout His life, Jesus paced Himself. He was surrounded by needs but he wasn’t driven by them. Rather, He lived by and responded in obedience. Jesus obeyed only wh ..read more

Collateral Damage: Find The Lie
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills
2y ago
Recently, I joined Pastor Phonz Phillips of Detroit Church for the Sunday Recap of Collateral Damage: Find The Lie. Collateral Damage is their latest Sunday series that explores what spiritual warfare really means, our role in it, and more importantly — our stance. Find The Lie looks at the belt of truth (Ephesians 6.14) from the armor of God. Just as the physical belt was an essential part of a soldier’s equipping back in biblical times, so also is God’s truth — the only truth we can stand on. And because of God’s truth, we can know the truth and stand against the lies of the enemy. The pos ..read more

Hardest Verses To Live Out: Forgiveness
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills

This week, I joined Jason Morgan from The Prayer House for part 3 of his new series, Hardest Verses To Live Out. When it comes to *actually* following Jesus, there’s no shortage of scriptures that feel hard to do. And some that may even seem impossible at times. But we also know that by His Spirit inside of us, we can do all things [in Christ] that He gives us to do. In this episode, we talk about one that’s been hard for me — forgiveness from Colossians 3.13. What is forgiveness, really? Is forgiveness conditional? How many times and when should we forgive? We jump into this and more to see ..read more

Last week, I had the great opportunity to join Pastor Sonny Smith of Detroit Church for the Sunday Recap of The Royals: People of The Margins. The Royals is their latest Sunday series that looks at God’s idea for royalty and how we’re live as heirs of the ultimate Royal, Himself. It’s God’s will for His royals to suffer like Jesus. We do this so that we can experience the power of His love and the presence of His Spirit, in unique ways now, and in ultimate glory when Christ returns! The Day Death Died
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills

Humanity was defeated and it seemed like sin had won. But then Jesus reset the scene and changed the game forever. This is the day that death died. And the moment that our union with God, broken by sin, was restored. Imagine the unstoppable force of sin from the beginning of humanity’s existence, culminating in physical and spiritual death, and destruction (Genesis 3). Sin is the original Thanos. And Jesus is our true and only Avenger — defeating death and overturning the power of sin. This is a time that we remember and pay reverence to God’s mercy to forgive us, and His grace that rewards u ..read more

What The Resurrection Means For Us Today
Faith Talk
by Mel Mills
2y ago
Let us level set this discussion on the Resurrection. We need to first ask, “what is the Resurrection?” To one it represents the finished work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the cross to atone for our sins (1 Corinthians 15.3-4). To another, it represents the extent of the love of God for mankind (1 John 4.10). To yet another, it represents our path to life everlasting (1 John 5.11). Yet, when we recognize that the Resurrection does not refer to a single event that culminated in an empty tomb, we begin to accept that the Resurrection provides evidence that the One who was anointed t ..read more
