Long before I started my journey of a lifetime, I used to think that life was perfect in every way and that you don’t need to work really hard to make it better or appreciated. I was wrong and over the period of four years, I shed light on life’s true purpose. When I started taekwondo, I realized that life is not always perfect or how you want it to be, but you need constant determination to make your life choices and others’ lives better. Taekwondo helped me achieve the fact that having a positive and strength-filled self, contributes to this monumental goal. “I develop myself in a p ..read more

WONDERS

WONDERS I often wonder, who was I in my past life? Or what was I? Flowers are my passion, especially orchids. What if I was an orchid? Is that why I feel for flowers and their extravagant beauty and aroma? If flowers do represent me, then...what part of me shows that I am derived from such, in its soothing grace? My mind? Body? Heart? Or soul? This question has popped up in my mind many times. One thing I do know is that different flowers bring different feelings to everyone in particular. Lavender, for example, produces oil that has aromatherapeutic properties, presumably able to b ..read more

WITHIN US Fire Fire purifies our body, glow, and warmth from flames,  That’s what we see in all the powerful legends. This element sparks focus, motivation, and a will to act, The fire element, inside us, gives energy and creates a big impact. Water 70 percent of our human bodies are made up of this, The water element, to us, is the life we live. Celebrating 51 years of EARTH Day To me, the Earth looks like an obloid sphere that shines with blue and green, from space, it's beautiful, what a sight to be seen.  To me, the Earth smells like fragrant flowers, wet grass after a rainfall, and sweet-smelling air, loved by all. To me, the Earth tastes like sweet fruits and savory vegetables with such a taste, it's unforgettable. To me, the Earth feels like home, a warm hug, and family, Earth takes care of us very carefully. To me, the Earth sounds like ocean waves crashing on the shore birds whistling in the trees  push ..read more

PROLOGUE   On a wintry afternoon in Derry Township, Pennsylvania,  with flurry snow and icicles glistening in the Sun, Cora and Sydia, the two sisters,  were watching the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'' and they both loved CHOCOLATE.  Halfway through the movie, sipping their hot chocolate, wide-eyed and engrossed in Willy Wonka and his Golden Ticket, Sydia whispered to herself, “I wish we could learn more about chocolate. Less than a second after Sydia said her wish, thunder boomed and lightning flashed. Then, the two sisters had just enough time to hold ..read more

“Power is a magical phenomenon. There is no need to show, with heroic deeds, people know.” One Monday morning, a little girl named Uma was going to The Valley of Learning Elementary School. It was her first day of second grade. She and her parents have moved to the city for a new life, and she loved the place the moment she laid eyes on it.  “Here we are!“ Her dad said from the driver’s seat. “Grab your backpack, Uma. Learn a lot, and have a nice day!“ Uma said, “I will, dad. Goodbye!“  Uma opened the car door, hopped off, and closed the door behind her. Her dad drove off ..read more

“The End.” Every single one of us, anyone who has ever heard a story, has heard these two words uttered at the end of a vivid journey into the depths of a writer's imagination. A few moments after these syllables, the book was closed, the lights were off and we drifted off into a dreamful sleep full of the whispering hills, the creepy forests, and the magical wonderlands we heard about in these stories. Over the years, we slowly and steadily accumulated a treasure trove of knowledge and a mind full of plots, characters, and climaxes, and we read books that seemed to get larger as we gr ..read more

HERO, WHO ARE YOU?
Mind 2 Paper

Throughout our lives, we have seen in our pop culture most people’s perception of what a hero is. We have seen countless times Superman fly in to save the day, or Captain America fend off aliens with his shield, or even Iron Man heroically save the existence of humanity with a snap of his fingers, but what really is the definition of heroism? What makes a person a hero? Merriam-Webster describes a hero as “a person admired for achievements and noble qualities.” Perhaps that definition is valid but it could be elaborated upon much more. In my eyes, what makes a person a hero are the facts t ..read more
