by Greek Giant Logan Webb Is on Fire The Giants won last night’s game against the New York Mets 5-1 after getting shut down completely through four innings by Luis Severino who retired the first twelve batters he faced. Fortunately for the boys from San Francisco Logan Webb matched and exceeded Severino’s effort pitching eight shutout innings, earning his third win of the year and lowering his ERA to 2.33 while throwing 106 pitches with 75 being strikes. The 5-2 win gave the Giants momentum after a loss yesterday and propels the team forward into the series against a Mets team that has often given them fits in years pst. At one point Webb retired 19 straight DBacks in a dominant effort that saw him induce many ground ball outs and outs on weak contact to go along with his five strike outs in seven shutout innings of work that saw him surrender only two hits and one walk.
