Breakfast at YOLK
The Nottingham Food Blog

The last time I wrote about YOLK in Nottingham was shortly after they had opened back in 2019. I really cannot believe it has taken me so long to return again, especially since I have been next door to 31K many times in those intervening years Back in 2019 I had eaten some quite tasty bites, a rather decadent Poached Eggs with Maple Bacon on a muffin, and a more simple Scrambled egg with Smoked Salmon on a Bagel (read more here) At that time they had a menu that encouraged you to ‘Choose your egg‘ then what to ‘…have it on‘ then finally ‘….and top it with‘. These days they have re-addressed t ..read more

Breakfast at the Rhubarbs Cafe & Tea Rooms in Burton Joyce
The Nottingham Food Blog

Rhubarbs Cafe & Tea Rooms sits alongside Church Road ( the A612) which is the main road running through Burton Joyce close to the Church and just over the road from The Wheatsheaf pub. It is a small space crammed with tables and always full of locals partaking of the freshly baked cakes and the most reasonably priced meals I have seen for some time. We have popped in a few times for a slice of sponge and a cup of tea but today I was making a special trip over to check out their All Day Breakfasts. Breakfast at the Refresh Cafe in Arnold
The Nottingham Food Blog
by myfoodhunt

The Refresh Cafe in Arnold is a classic old school cafe serving up homecooked comfort food to the local people of the town. Places like this are becoming increasingly hard to find as the younger generation seem happier picking up their safe meals from the ubiquitous chains that have taken over the high street. This place though is a different breed sitting proudly to one side of the Market place it faces competition from the slicker looking Market Place Tea Rooms on the other side, the hipster Cleo’s deli and the Wine Shop on the corner, or maybe it doesn’t. I kind of feel that the people din ..read more

Breakfast at Chocks Away
The Nottingham Food Blog

Chocks Away Cafe based at Nottingham Airport just past Tollerton is a fabulous place to grab a snack and watch the small planes land and take-off on the runway. I have been coming here on and off for over 10 years as it used to be one of our semi regular lunchtime haunts from work especially in the summer when you can sit outside in the sun. I like to come here for the breakfast action (if I can get here early enough) but I have been know to grab a toastie and a slice of cake as well in my times here. It is a very popular and friendly little cafe and everyone is most welcoming. Today we were ..read more

Brunch at Jules Cafe & Deli in Ruddington
The Nottingham Food Blog

The Breakfast Gods were kind to me today as we visited Jules Cafe & Deli in Ruddington for Brunch. Located on the main street through Ruddington they are perfectly placed in the heart of the action. I have had my eyes (or was it my stomach) on this place for a while ever since they had taken over the spot formally occupied by various other cafes including the Black Cat Cafe, Morton’s, and Matthew’s all of whom I have frequented in my time. ALL DAY BREAKFAST MENU I had hobbled my way along the few hundred yards from the Physio to Jules Cafe & Deli and I wasn’t about to settle for a cu ..read more

The Generous Briton in Costock was our port of call for lunch this Sunday. We used to come here for food years ago and always enjoyed the pub so when we recently heard they were doing meals again we thought we should check them out @thegenerousbriton_ SUNDAY LUNCH MENU The menu was pretty simple if you just wanted one plateful offering a KIDS, a REGULAR, or a LARGE SUNDAY ROAST Meat choices being BEEF, PORK or LAMB with optional extras of CAULIFLOWER CHEESE and PIG IN BLANKETS. Personally I always rate a Sunday Lunch higher that includes Cauliflower Cheese as part of the package and I think ..read more

Tonight we took a trip out of town over to Radcliffe on Trent to hunt down and devour a Patty Melt, the latest special from Secret Burger Club. The Circle Eatery in Bingham is located just a few steps away from the market place on Market Street and is a great spot to grab a bite of food if you are visiting the area We popped in during a trip to the weekly market hoping to find a spot of late breakfast and we were in luck grabbing one of the last few tables in a very busy dining room They pride themselves on serving food ‘sourced as locally as possible’ and have ‘a real focus on using simple, fresh ingredients’ that sounds good to me BREAKFAST MENU AT THE CIRCLE EATERY As I sat perusing the breakfast menu my first thoughts were my de ..read more

Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana – More Pizza in Nottingham
The Nottingham Food Blog
by myfoodhunt
4M ago
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana recently opened their latest branch here in Nottingham on Victoria Street joining a flux of popular pizza chains hitting the city over the last year or so. While I do welcome that Nottingham as a city is deemed worthy of consideration by the restaurant world I do worry about the impact on the smaller more independent traders in town. That wasn’t going to stop me popping along to check them out especially when I read that they were offering about 3000 free pizzas to the local folk to bring the curious in during the first month. I took full advantage of that signing up o ..read more
