SPRING, TEXAS – A railroad worker succumbed to his injuries after a reported explosion near Old Town Spring. The incident happened in the 26500 block of E Hardy Road. Reports indicate that railroad crews were conducting welding work on the tracks when a fuel gas line ignited resulting in an explosion. One of the workers sustained life threatening injures and later died at the hospital. “HCFMO investigators are on scene investigating a fire at 26510 E. HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS – Homicide Investigators with the Harris Sheriff’s Office are investigating after locating a body in a wooded area late Thursday evening. The body was found in the 18700 block of Imperial Valley Drive in a wooded area, just east of the roadway. According to investigators, the body is believed to be that of a 16-year-old runaway that was reported missing earlier in the week. The body showed clear evidence of trauma. Harris County- Deputies from Mark Herman’s Precinct 4 Constables office were quick to respond Sunday afternoon to the Wal-Mart at 2920 @ Kuykendahl Road. Deputies arrived and arrested male suspects. A wildfire continues to grow in Walker County, 10 miles north of Huntsville near Lost Indian Camp and Deer Lease Road just east of FM 247. As of 8:40 PM, the fire has consumed approximately 2,000 acres. The Texas Forestry Services reports 20% containment on the fire. Multiple fire departments across Walker and neighboring counties along with ground and air support from the Texas A&M Forestry Service are battling the blaze.
