So many good spots, so little time. The Cedar Park/Leander area has been growing so much over the last few years. If you’re new to the area – welcome! Next time you feel like grabbing a drink, you don’t need to drive all the way in to Austin. Odds are, there’s a friendly neighborhood hangout waiting for you just down the street. Here are my favorite spots to grab a drink in Cedar Park / Leander! I visited Wildfire Park in Leander yesterday and WOW was I impressed.

I’ve seen this little collection of airstreams in Old Town Leander before, but I hadn’t paid much attention. I saw some posts on instagram recently about a Farmers Market that is getting off the ground there, so I went to check it out! They hope to have the market running by March, but there’s still plenty to check out in the mean time. I went to Bare Pops first. They’re serving handcrafted paletas with only the BARE minimum ingredients. They have water-based and milk-based pops to choose from. I went ..read more

Ready to drool? Satisfy your sweet tooth at The Fancy Marshmallow Co. Their cafe in Cedar Park is so adorable. The pink, black, and white decor is the perfect backdrop for your Instagram-worthy, sugary sweet photos. Their s’mores iced coffee? Delish. That’s not whipped cream on top, like some basic coffee, that’s toasted marshmallow fluff. Next level. My favorite treat by far was the s’mores cookie, but the s’more oat fudge bar was also tasty. Next time, I’m definitely getting tub of their Fancy Fluff Marshmallow Creme. If you need a gift (for teacher appreciation, for employee appr ..read more

Instill Coffee celebrated the grand opening of their Cedar Park brick and mortar this week and I couldn’t be happier for them! They started in a coffee truck at 805 Crystal Falls in Leander and have now expanded to a brick and mortar off W. Whitestone Blvd. (it’s in the same parking lot as the new Nervous Charlie’s). The space is really cozy and is certainly somewhere you could work from home. I’m loving their adaptogenic lattes. The Long Buzz Latte is combined with clarified butter (ghee) and MCT oil. I love the buttery flavor it creates! Also, The Hulk is a clear winner for me – 20 Hour Cold ..read more

Follow Me to Lynny’s Food Truck!

Lynny’s is a diner-style breakfast food truck is serving up some tasty (and creative!) morning meals. We tried to get a good sampling of everything – biscuit sandwiches with fried eggs and cheese, a Dana’s sweet biscuit, toaster pancakes with peach and blueberry (their current seasonal flavor), and a biscuit parfait. The biscuit parfait was my favorite. It’s a biscuit layered with whipped cream and house made peach compote and lemon curd. Delish! The menu changes based on season flavors and whatever they feel like cooking up that day! They also do limited time offers, like take-and-bake b ..read more

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream has been made fresh daily at each store since 1945. Their Austin location on Anderson Mill is serving up a delicious selection of ice cream. At any given time, they have over 45 flavors (100 in rotation!) spanning two menu screens to choose from! Once you’ve chosen your flavors, you need to decide how you want it. Want it in a cone, or a dish? In a pint or quart to go? As a sundae with toppings like caramel, marshmallow, peanut butter, or hot fudge? As a Hurricane with candy mixed in? As a shake? As a Handel ice cream pop? SO MANY OPTIONS! I always go with a classi ..read more

Night Owl opens new location in Leander, Texas.

Attention, Leander! I’ve got something you’re gonna LOVE. Night Owl is an adorable cocktail lounge situated inside a small house in Old Town Leander (203 N. Brushy St., Leander, TX 78641). The wood panes, velvet chairs, and counter desk lamps all come together to give a nice homey vibe. I’ve only been once so far, but the old fashioned I had was delicious. I’m pretty picky about my cocktails (because Brian is an incredible bartender at home), but I loved my drink at Night Owl. They’re evening offering a new barrel aged old fashioned with Bob Dylan’s whiskey, called a “Heaven’s Cloud Old ..read more
