He is a Muslim and wants to represent Muslims in fiction, but also just wants to tell a good story with good intrigue, high tension and big fights. His work is heavily psychological and speculative. Shadow of Iblis is a modern fantasy, but the current book he’s writing is science fiction.  THE WRITER Assalaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. How’re you? Shitta Faruq Ademola He learnt how to hold on to his name in Arabic school when Ustadh taught them the history of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). How his life was perfect, free from sins and temptations; the way every Muslim wanted their life to be.  Whenever it was noon, he would perform ablution for Zuhr and head to the masjid. When Maghrib was around the corner, he would also perform the ritual the way the Prophet (PBUH) had taught. He wondered if it was a ritual or not, because, to him, this was a sign of a sort of baptism and when he did that, he knew he was clean in the sight of Allah and ..read more

Balqees Aponmade “Welcome daddy!” the twins chorused, huge smiles plastered on their faces. They noticed their father wasn’t cheerful like he would be whenever he returned from work, but it didn’t really bother them. “Maybe Dad’s just tired,” Aliya told her brother and they both shrugged.  What really bothered the twins when they realized it, was the fact that their father didn’t bring the bag of goodies he usually came home with. They’d never known their father to go out without returning home with gifts, cakes, or ice cream for them. Today was different and their faces fell. Something ..read more
