Hi guys, Haven't posted in a long while, but I thought I would see if my vintage drum brothers and sisters might have what I'm looking for. I'm in need of a Ludwig sky blue pearl 12x8 tom, from the 60's preferably, but I will also settle for a 70's one as well. This can be a classic tom, or a club date tom, classic meaning with classic lugs. Doesn't have to be collector condition, as this will be a part of a mixed set of orphans/players kit. I am not a Gretsch collector and rarely dabble into the 1960s-70s but I love gold plated snare drums. 1969-70 GRETSCH 5 x 14 RB GOLD PLATED SNARE DRUM 1969-70 GRETSCH 5 x 14 SSB GOLD PLATED SNARE DRUM The RB drum shows more wear than the SSB drum but overall the Gretsch gold plating on these drums leaves a lot to be desired; nothing even close to 1920s-30s Ludwig & Ludwig, Slingerland or Leedy gold plated drums. Hey guys, good to be back after along while away. Around 10 yrs, ago I was heavy collecting vintage drums. I could find great deals on vintage drum sets all the time. My collection grew to around 30 very nice vintage sets and tons of hardware. Now, I got the fever again. But, I'm thinking that these deals and vintage drum sets are now much harder to find now.
