Today I got up earlier than I needed to, and then left my flat an hour before I had to in order to avoid the painters who the landlord has employed to paint the outside of the house. I have met the painters before as the landlord regularly employs them to do various jobs on the house. They are loud and always want to chat, and I get very anxious about running in to them. They are always laughing and I fear I will become the object of their ridicule. When they are working outside my flat I... Read more ..read more

Social anxiety at work - scared of being found out

I have a massive fear of public speaking and I’m not talking just big presentations in front of 20 people. I mean I’m scared of any form of speaking in front of two or more people, and sometimes even in front of just one person if the pressure is on me to talk. Problem is I’m in a successful career and job where I’m deemed to be a good communicator and I’ve managed to get by and hide my phobia but it’s becoming more difficult. I’m so scared of being found out it’s making it so much worse ..read more

I am so unhappy and so angry. You probably won't understand how much I have gone through. I lost in life, I can hardly ever feel the same when people say things like "Life is good", "Most people are good". On the contrary, I hate hearing this because I think I am not getting a good life or seeing good people. I have been trying to figure out how I can feel better but I fail to do so. I have been trying to figure out how to change myself but it is even harder to do so. "Angry" and "Unhappy"... Read more ..read more

At work, gym, or family events, I can turn from an introvert to an extrovert. I can push myself to talk to new people (even girls) there, but in public i just seem to melt. I've been going to the beach, bars, malls, local concerts, the city, and coffe shops for about a month now. I see alot of cute girls when I go out, hell everyday i see an opprtunity, but something is wrong with me. I feel like there is a barrier, Like i cant say anything to them or even approach them. I know all i... Read more ..read more

I'm just having a lot of trouble; fear if doing almost anything beyond my comfort zone CRIPPLES me... And even though I've successfully started losing weight, I keep eating more than less lately because I'm not working right now and it's tearing me apart self esteem wise ... .I really, really really need another more positive voice in my head. Even just one.... Because at this point going anywhere doing anything that will move my life forward is just.... I don't know it just doesn't seem... Read more ..read more

Nervous stomach

For years now, whenever I go to a new doctor they have you fill out the form about your health history. Within the form are a list of things to check a box if it pertains to you, for example, high blood pressure, heart problems, etc ... sandwiched in between there is always a box that asks if you have a nervous stomach. I never checked this box because I didn’t think it was serious or I didn’t have a nervous stomach at the time and that wasn’t why I was there to see the doctor but, in the... Read more ..read more

What do you do at a concert?

I might be asking this a bit too late, but I didn't feel like resorting to this sad question until last minute, lol. Anyway! My girlfriend wanted me to join her to a concert, and she was so excited I just didn't want to refuse! She knows I have social anxiety, so she won't try to force me into anything I don't feel like doing, but I also really want her to enojy the experience without having to worry about me. I've never been to a concert before, but I want to try and step out of my... Read more ..read more
