Multiple beaches in Orange County were closed Monday afternoon due to the threat of lightning strikes in the area. Huntington Beach closed its beaches around 3:20 p.m., and officials said they would remain closed until "weather conditions are deemed safe." The Seal Beach Police Department also announced that beaches, as well as the pier, would be closed while a storm system moved through the coastal area. Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a Seal Beach home on Wednesday. Seal Beach police received a call from an out-of-state relative claiming their brother was “having issues with their elderly mother.” Officers responded to a home on the 600 block of Ocean Avenue at around 8:30 a.m. Authorities were not able to contact anyone inside the home at the time. True to predictions from the National Weather Service, large surf and high tide combined to bring coastal flooding to Orange County Wednesday night. The flooding was not severe, only about a foot or foot-and-a-half of water, but it did affect a parking lot, bikeways and some structures. The flooding near Seal Beach Pier may have been just a prelude. A 52-year-old man has been arrested and faces multiple felony charges after he was caught sexually assaulting an 85-year-old fellow resident of a Seal Beach nursing home, the Orange County District Attorney's Office announced Friday. Two people were killed in a six-vehicle crash on the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach early Sunday morning. The Orange County Fire Authority and California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 1:30 a.m. Fire officials said six vehicles were involved in the crash. Two people were pronounced dead on scene and a third person suffered "critical injuries" and had to be cut from a vehicle by firefighters using heavy equipment. A small plane with two occupants made an emergency landing on a Seal Beach shore Tuesday afternoon. Police got a call just before 12:40 p.m. regarding a plane on the sand, a Seal Beach Police Department spokesperson told KTLA. When officers arrived, they found that a Cessna 152 had landed on the shore at Seal Beach near Eighth Street.
