I have two 110 electrical boxes at each end of the house, mounted to the eaves (i.e., facing the ground). Each has a conventional double spotlight fixture. I want to preserve the ability to control one of the two receptacles in that box manually so a spotlight could be turned on or off independently when needed. The other receptacle would power a security camera, with video distributed via wifi. The spotlight fixture needs to be controlled via a dedicated remote control --- not a phone... Hi, I just purchased a home that was built in 2006. The home was wired with a HAI Smarting lighting that is not working correctly. Looks like all power load is ran into a center point closet and two wires goes to the switch/dimmer at the wall to control the lights. This is the way its wired thru most of the home, which I have never seen this type of wiring done. It's not working well and some buttons doesn't work. There is an AV closet so I'm not sure if there is even a "brain/control... HAI Smart Lighting replacement ..read more

I'm a bit of a fan (pun intended) of Brilliant Smart products. Have loads of the bulbs, power boards etc. I recently bought the Wifi Ceiling Fan Controller. It allows you to convert any AC ceiling fan to a smart device. Including the light (if your fan has one). Note: I did have to move one pin in the connectors to work with my Arlec fan but that was not an issue. So wired up, the fan works as intended with the new remote control. Three fan speeds, light on/off (and dimmable). Connects to... Brilliant vs Google Home: Ceiling Fan Controller ..read more

Hello I have an Omnipro 2 and the lighting automation has been stopping requiring a re-boot. I have concerns it may be going bad since i installed it in 2009. I control the lights via ALC ,window shades via outputs, irrigation again via outputs and relays, the fire alarm system and the security system. Is there anything on the market that i would use to replace? Have any of you guys had to update-replace your omni pro? Thanks. Seems like a daunting task ..read more

I need to control a Sky+ device from Mexico, They use an android media stream box Model SEI8000SKM from SEI Robotics. As far as I am able to see the remote only uses ir to control the TV on off and the volume, I imagine all other functions are Bluetooth. I have not been able to find any ip control info, I know if there is none I won't be able to do anything but add one more remote besides the fire stick and the Savant remote. Any help will be really appreciated ..read more

I had a PRO2 with Crestron weather processor 1.5 and touch panel interface 1.0. All was well until Bic C changed things. The updated weather processor, 1.6 and touch panel interface, 2.0 only work with 3 and 4 series. I picked up a PRO3 and loaded my program on it. I swapped in the updated processor and interface. I believe it's set up correctly but still no weather. Not seeing anything related in error logs ..read more

Hello, am new to alarm systems and looking for a non-monitored budget one. I came across this one from X-sense (youtube.com/watch?v=xuHw-ymmNbQ) but no more available on Amazon nor the official website (seems like no direct replacement as well). The company seems to be more oriented in smoke alarm / water leak detection actually. The x-sense seems good since : 1. it is controlled though an App so reducing the overall cost of the system. 2. Everything wireless / easy setup 3. No... Budget Home Alarm System ..read more

I still have x10 commander which I could use through an iphone on wifi or 5g anywhere and it would work. I updated to new iphone and since x10 commander is no longer in the app store the app won't work. The app on my old phone still works, but won't on my new phone since it needs to verify with apple I guess. Is anyone still controlling x10 devices on here from their mobile phone and what are you guys using? I'd like to try to get x10 commander to work again, but since it's not in the app... I have a standard wired doorbell in our house. However it isn't very loud. Can I replace the existing chime box with one that is louder, preferably with melodies and volume control. Reading through quite a few on the internet most don't seem to have very good reviews. Cost isn't an issue. Any suggestions on a good unit to look at ? Thanks in advance ..read more
