Kensington Palace released a video message from The Princess of Wales today, March 22, in which she announces that she has began cancer treatment following major abdominal surgery earlier this year. After a week filled with other events, Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge made an appearance on the final day of Royal Ascot 2022 (Friday, June 17). Today, June 13, was the Order of the Garter ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle; held for the first time since 2019. Queen Elizabeth II missed the ceremony itself but did invest the new Companions (as Sovereign of the Garter) and attended the lunch. One of the new Companions this year is The Duchess of Cornwall, who received the Order of the Garter late last year after 16 years of marriage. After pulling out of the Platinum Jubilee events Friday and Saturday, it was a shocker to see the video of the Queen pulling out a marmalade sandwich from her handbag.
