Ewelina Pikulska, 40, was charged months after first being arrested on a warrant in Florida in connection with the hit-and run. CHICAGO (CBS) — The family of a Glenview man whose body was found in the Chicago River are preparing for his memorial service Wednesday. “We want to thank you everyone, from the bottom of our heart,” said Jose Bascaran, victim’s father. Iñaki Bascaran’s father says he’s grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who searched for his son. GLENVIEW, Ill. (CBS) — Police issued new information Sunday about the car they believe struck and killed a man on a bike in Glenview the day before. Trinidad Salgado, 56, was struck and killed as he was riding his bike just after 3 a.m. near Sanders Road and South Parkway Drive when he was struck. CHICAGO (CBS) — A bicyclist is dead after a hit-and-run in Glenview early Saturday morning. Police say Trinidad Salgado, 59, of Wheeling, Illinois, was hit shortly after 3 a.m. near Sanders Road and South Parkway Drive, but no vehicle was located at the scene. The Glenview Fire Department transported Salgado to Lutheran Genearl Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. GLENVIEW, Ill. (CBS) — Witnesses tackled a man who shoved another man and hit a woman in the head with a rock in Glenview this week until officers arrived, police said Thursday. Just after 10 a.m. Monday, Glenview police received two calls about a man attacking people in the 1000 block of Raleigh Road. CHICAGO (CBS) — Residents in the north suburbs are coming together to save some beavers that moved into their neighborhood. The animals may look harmless enough, but one homeowners’ association says the animals are doing damage and wants them dead. The beavers are taking the blame for eating away at the landscape and trees. Trapping and killing the beavers was the solution decided on by management and the home owners association.
