The postcode lottery begins again? My council is opening applications on the 14 November, they have not stated eligibility requirements, how strict they will be etc. also not even how to apply yet So worth checking your council website, I have seen some people report they are getting an automatic payment simply because they get council tax reduction, so some councils seem softer than others. Also is a community support grant, however my council seem to be again discriminating against people not living in council properties, 3 ways to apply. Social worker if you have one. This is another daft NHS thing! Driving family member had caught something had a covid test at home so they did it & it said negative. Unfortunately it went to their chest & had a chest infection. It was Saturday so had to call 111 & got to speak to a Dr on the phone & they prescribed ab's & steroids which went digitally to local GP & elderly family member picked them up & took them to Driving family member. Thought I would open a thread about this so we don't derail other threads. If anyone has an airfryer & wants to show/talk about how they are getting on with it or not then feel free to add it here. The downside of the two compartment ones is they are a lot bigger than the one compartment ones & are more expensive plus would cost more to run. I'm wondering if you can use kitchen foil in them?. I don't fancy putting raw chicken thighs & veg together in a compartment but if I could use kitchen f ..read more

My partner wants to challenge a decision on planning and following a journey, he suffers from cerabal palsy and all his adult life has had issues leaving the house on his own, he can quite happily stay in for weeks on a time, and I often have to drag him out, he gets very anxious in public places, but because he has been like this all his adult life he has never thought of this as a mental health issue and just got on with it. Now my question is, He has never been clinically diagnosed with mental health issues or take any prescribed medication, because like I mentioned he didn’t think of it as ..read more

Hello to everyone in this forum, I hope that you are all in good health, and feeling as well as you all can possibly be today? I am making an enquiry on behalf of an elderly friend who is 72 years old, and living alone. He is in receipt of a state pension and also personal independence payment, standard rate care and standard rate mobility. I would be very grateful to know if there are any other benefits he could claim so that he could have extra money coming in? He receives a total income from PIP which is £345.20 a month. Is this the correct entitlement amount for both standard components ..read more
