Sorry for my English, the problem is: I can't start or receive calls, (if I try to call it from a different phone, it sounds like its turned off) also can"t send text messages, BUT I can receive text messages and can use the mobile internet. Signal strength looks fine, and I tested the SIM card in an other phone and works flawlessly so I dont think its a service issue. I have a Motorola G8 Power Lite that's around 4 years old. Recently it has started randomly freezing and going into a repeated bootloop before eventually settling down and working ok until the next time it happens. I have done tests via USB from a laptop to check for hardware issues but have found nothing. I can only guess that it's a software issue of some kind. I recently have tried installing the google phone app on some Samsung phones for someone for the call screening feature. When doing some test calls I noticed that the screen call option never appeared and there were no option available for it in the app at all. I did some searching and it looked like the phone had to come with the google phone app preinstalled for that feature to work. Have Cricket wireless and am planning on switching to Consumer Cellular. I had a LG Harmony which gave me internet issues. Cricket had sent me a sim card to see if that would help and it didn’t. I purchased an unlocked Moto G Player 2021, inserted the sim card from Cricket and it worked fine. Well now that I want to switch I spent 4 hours on with Cricket attempting to get my phone unlocked with no success. I was not aware the carrier can lock an unlocked phone. I unfortunately bent the only cable socket on my android phone, a micro-B one. Not knowing it was bent I pushed forward hard with a single non-muscular arm; I did--not--go backward to put all my weight on neither used any tool to increase the force. I used a mini-screwdriver kit the one with the thinnest flat head to shim and after slightly prying, I used a slightly thicker head to pry even more, still not a lot.
