Hi there, everyone. Welcome to my blog. I’ve really enjoyed writing it. I hope you enjoy reading it. If you are one of my ‘regulars’ (there are about 300 of you now), you will know that, over time, I cover about five or six themes. This week, I’m reflecting on the theme of risk. Of taking the risk of changing lifestyle, of changing profession, of changing direction in life. What do you think of this quote……..  ? Need to frame it and hang it on my wall ! When you play it too safe, you’re taking the biggest risk of your life. Time is the only wealth we’re given. – Barbara Sher Some o ..read more

Hi everyone out there in Bryn Celyn land ! I know we have a few new readers this month ! Some of you who read our Facebook post about the “change of use” issue which we are having with the council’s planning department have asked to join the mailing list of my blog. Thanks for doing that ! Ron and I have had an amazing amount of support in relation to this issue. The comments you all left are so complimentary. We are awaiting feedback from Anglesey’s MP about the outcome of her discussions with the council. Not sure about what is going to happen……… but will let you know in due course ! Ron is ..read more

Hi all, As we are in Wales, we are still in lockdown. What week is it now ? Week 10 or 11, I think ? Anyone know for certain ? I thought that today I would tell you about a new skill that I have been learning. No, it’s not cooking, baking or anything to do with food. I’ll leave that to Ron. We’ve just had some homemade brioche for breakfast. I wouldn’t even try to bake as well as my husband ! There’s not much brioche left as you can see. In the past few weeks I have learned how to build a website. Now, my IT skills are pretty basic. As far as I’m concerned – I have developed my IT skills on a ..read more

Hi all ! We are in Wales – so the lockdown continues to be in force. It must be week 8 or week 9 by now ? We are only allowed to go out for food, exercise and medication. Although, I think that today, these arrangements have been relaxed a little and we can visit our families within about 5 miles. Doesn’t help Ron and I much as our family is about 300 miles away. It will help others, though. To be straight. The theme of this blog is “looking forward into a new and better future”. You will only need to turn on the radio, TV or social media to hear someone rehashing the past and agonising over ..read more

I really enjoyed writing and posting, but I think that the story is now pretty much told. We are here at Bryn Celyn…….. We are in lockdown……… The shop and café are closed …….  The gate to our pro ..read more
