Hi All,
I need to replace this rotted fascia board which appears to be stained plywood. Would any of the experts on here be able to advise of the best colour match as I have no idea what product was used initially.
Many Thanks

Hello all,
I used to have carpet on the stairs and now I'm thinking of painting the mdf stairs.
The home builders came in about 1.5 years ago and drilled some screws to stop the stairs from creaking. However they have left some screws hanging up halfway, please see photos.
Would you recommend drilling these down further or removing these? Also what's the best way to fill these? Would Ronsill high performance filler (2 part) be suitable?
Main problem is I cannot sand the screws down....

Hi folks,
Just discovered that all white paint is definitely not the same
Just bought some Crown matt emulsion and proceeded to cover up a mark on the ceiling, now the paint I have used looks grey and patchy at the side of much whiter paint that was already on. I honestly cannot remember the brand/type I used initially but it is much whiter and has a slightly soft sheen on it. Now realise there is nothing I can do other than paint the whole lot again..but this Crown matt I have just...

I stripped a couple of sheets of pretty fresh wallpaper off the wall (wasn't happy with the finish so decided to start again) and it looks as though the sheets have taken off the top layer of plasterboard. (photos attached)
How would I go about fixing things to make it even so that I can re-paper the wall?

Hi there,
I'm planning to hang wallpaper on my chimney breast, only on the front face. Ending on the corner will be an issue, and I read I should wrap 1-2 inches around the external corner to avoid peeling.
But how should I finish it? Plaster it over? I was looking for external corners trims, that would protect, but can't find anything that has a traditional look, ie plaster moulding trims.
Any suggestions? Thanks ..read more

Help a newbie out please.
Plastered and fitted new kitchen over a year ago. So happy to finally have a kitchen that we just got on and used it... Re-plastered walls are still bare plaster.
Now GOT TO PAINT THE BLOOMING KITCHEN!
Bare plaster now has the expected spots of pasta sauce and has no doubt also absorbed a load of kitchen steam etc...
Should I just mist paint the walls as is? I can't see that trying to clean the plaster (beyond the odd spot clean) is a good idea, it's so...

Hi guys. It’s my first time posting here and I really hope you can help. I have an internal shower room, obviously with no window but an extractor fan. The ceiling in there - or more specifically the small area of ceiling directly above the shower - has been the bane of my existence for some time. No matter what I paint up there, even Zinsser anti-fungal paint and primer, it’s peeling off within weeks.
The reason? I’ve not long discovered that my predecessors put timber up there, and simply...
