Let’s find a bet worth taking
The Dallas Mavericks continue their in-state rival swing with a trip to Houston to face the Rockets. For now, the Mavericks remain in tenth place, on a collision course with the play-in tournament, unless Phoenix gets hot and/or the Mavericks' free fall resumes.
The return of PJ Washington looms over this one as evidenced by his player props popping up on the board. Dallas needs all the healthy bodies they can get. Let’s scan the lines and props and find a wager that might make this one a bit more fun to watch.

This wobbled Dallas Mavericks roster won’t tell us much about the team, its future or how everything will play out. So in this series, let’s take a look at the little things instead.
It’s easy to become overwhelmed these days. Wars, political conflicts, economic turmoil, a new crisis seems to headline the news every day. Nothing seems stable right now.
But when times are tough, at least we have basketball to give us a little bit of joy and remind us that happiness and meaning are found in the small things. The laughter of your child, a really good cup of coffee w ..read more

Have you ever even TRIED going gentle into that good night? What if it’s actually kind of nice?
Houston is a young team on the come-up. After just missing the play-in last year, and being a league bottom-feeder for the number of years preceding that, they are starting to look like they may just have a foundation upon which they can build a future of sustained success.
Dallas… well. Two ships passing in the night, innit?

The Mavericks fell flat down south, and fall back to a losing record.
The Dallas Mavericks split their games against the San Antonio Spurs this week after dropping the second game, 126-116, Wednesday night. The team falls back under .500 to a record of 33-34, floating just above the Phoenix Suns for the final play-in spot.
The shorthanded Mavericks had seven players in double figures, led by Dante Exum’s 17 points and Brandon Williams’ 19 off the bench, but it wasn’t enough after a lackluster start to the second half. A deficit they were never able to recover.

Dallas drops the second half of the baseball series
The Dallas Mavericks fell to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 126-116 Wednesday night in San Antonio. Brandon Williams led the way for Dallas with 19 points, while De’Aaron Fox paced San Antonio with a game-high 32. The Mavericks were unable to complete the sweep of the two-game “baseball series” in San Antonio and had to settle for the 1-1 split.
The two teams went back and forth for much of the first quarter, with neither side able to gain much separation. Naji Marshall continued his hot stretch by chi ..read more

The second in a pair of games in San Antonio
The Dallas Mavericks (33-33) head south to take on the San Antonio Spurs (26-37) in the second in a pair of games between the two division rivals. A very short-handed Dallas team managed to hold off the Spurs on Monday night, winning 133-129. It’s worth asking how much the Spurs want to win this one. The player may play hard but Fox looked ready to go on vacation. Here’s the main things you need to know:

The hospital Mavericks are looking for their second straight win
Dallas is looking to sweep the mini-series in San Antonio with a win tonight. They will be short-handed again, so the climb continues to be uphill. Whether or not you want Dallas to win, they will give it their best shot to do so. It should stay compeititve, especially considering the Spurs are also incentivized to lose.

There is no time to be indecisive if you’re the Mavericks’ brass
The Mavericks lost five games in a row before winning this last week, their largest skid since early January. They are back to .500 for the first time since November 10 and their record is 33-33 in 10th place in the Western Conference. Their lead on Phoenix for the final play-in spot has shrunk to just 2.5 games. The losses were to Milwaukee (137-107) on the road, and Milwaukee (132-117), Sacramento (122-98), Memphis (122-111), and Phoenix (125-116) at home. They beat San Antonio (133-12 ..read more
